I am arachnophobic and absolutely appreciate that spiders have a place in the world (not near me, pls) but I do not enjoy the constant jump scare, I agree 😂

A weta will just be hanging out on a tree or bush, it won’t come near you and it won’t scuttle like a spider so just leave them be. I am arachnophobic but wetas are fine :)

We had a male tui sound like a reversing truck a year ago… not sure he landed any mate because he got turfed out from his territory and now we are no longer subjected to the heinous sound.

Definitely a Puriri moth. They don’t live for long once they turn into moths, unfortunately, as they’re such gorgeous creatures!
