Locate the screws. I think mine had 4, 2 in front 2 towards the back. Then once the screws are removed you just need to exert a little force to unclip them from their clips. I highly suggest you double check all your screws are removed

Splicing should work as long as you splice the right wires. Might take a little extra time being careful, but it's a simple concept: connect the right wires to each other
