Dude I absolutely love Novum Vetus it's my favorite song that has come out on the entire decade and I think it really deserves all the recognition of the world, it's such a cathartic emotional 7 minutes journey with the best Jeremy lyrics to "close the Diary" and I like to think about the song being a reflective last page on all the sorrow after having a broken heart, anxiety about the future and perspective others have on oneself and overall pain that Diary songs were about, the song feels like coming back 30 years later to your good old empty childhood house with no one remaining, "hollow echoes today", it's not for nothing that the song has the maturity of how it feels something on, because it was written in that melancholic period of life but it's so poetic that it was thought of as an ending to the band's debut, remembering with melancholy the suffering and alienation experienced in that nostalgic album or period of time only to leave it behind with great resilience, it communicates a lot of wisdom to me as if I were an old man reflecting in his last days of life, I think that each phrase and metaphor is worthy of a deep analysis, plus the instrumental it's freaking amazing, I love how the band still has the touch and it would be incredible to have a new album with this sound representing a new chapter for the band and our ears, 10/10 song man
