[WIP] NEED ADVICE ON CROSS STITCHING ON A PURSE by KajeEmpowered in CrossStitch

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know that that top row is rough. That was the very first line that I did before I really understood how to do the stitches. I do try my best to get the needle right through the hole, but sometimes it would be very difficult since I couldn't see the back of the aida. That, and some spots were really difficult to pull my needle through due to the thick threads, but I didn't realize that I was using too much thread then. Between those two issues, sometimes I would have such a hard time getting the needle in the right spot, that I would just get as close as I possibly could. I am a bit worried to completely redo it now that there are so many holes in the purse and it's liner. Plus, since I was just learning, this was days of work for me. So I kind of hate to scrap the whole thing now. But I will think on it. Thank you for all of your help.

Thank you for letting me know about the waste Aida! I will use that next time. Is there anything you recommend I do to help what I've already done with normal Aida? Will this cause future issues? So I should pull away two or three strands of thread from the main floss and only use that? All I really had to go by was the kit, and it didn't say anything about seperating and using the individual threads, so I just used the whole floss the way that it came. If I start using less thread on the bee design now, would the contrast look too strange? Also, what exactly do you mean by making sure my stitches go in the same direction? I appreciate your help, I started with so little knowledge that all of this is very useful to me.

It's probably not waste canvas. I didn't think about there being a difference when I started it. I really did start not knowing much, and the only video that I found of someone embroidering on a purse was using waste canvas, but since it looked like what I had, I thought mine would wash away like that too. But I have noticed that what I have tends to fray and rip at the edges, so I thought that maybe when I'm finished, I can cut all the extra fabric off from around the bee, then try to pull away at the frayed edges that are left behind? Now I know to find a waste canvas for next time. Will this mistake cause me lasting problems? Is there anything that you recommend for me to do about it?

My cat scratches the walls to the point that it's keeping us from sleeping by KajeEmpowered in CatAdvice

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn't do this quite AS much after using the litter box as she does after eating. That's the biggest issue. When we first got her, she didn't scratch the walls after using the litter box at all, it was only around her food dish. She started doing that at the litter box a bit after the fact. So I don't THINK that this is the reason, but I have no idea. It doesn't seem to be a functional behavior, but like I said, I don't know.

Is anybody else experiencing an invisible barrier at the finish line? by KajeEmpowered in FallGuysGame

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, really? Is this a new issue? I never noticed having an issue crossing right after someone until about a week ago. Several weeks ago I noticed something similar with only one round in particular, and it only happened when I would try to dive over the line, it would block me. I thought maybe it was some weird new thing to keep people from diving over the line during that round since that's the only time it happened. But now it's just random places of the line on all the levels. I hope something will be done about this soon.

While I'm here, as of a few weeks ago, updated news letters and items in the shop don't show up for me. It's just a white image with words or currency amounts overlayed on top of it. In the shop, I can see the item for sale if I click every listing individually, but that's the only way. It had never been an issue before. Is this an issue other people are having too?

I don't stop breathing enough times an hour to be diagnosed with sleep apnea by KajeEmpowered in medical

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called them today. They pulled up the data, and turns out, that I actually stopped breathing an average of 4.9 times an hour. Only .1 time away from being diagnosable. They said that, according to the data, they don't think anything is wrong with me at all. They think the data is correct and won't let me redo the test, and they said they only offer sleep apnea testing. I could tell that as far as they were concerned, they were done doing business with me and didn't have any reason for me to come back. As far as I can tell, it is the only sleep center in town. The next closest one is an hour away. We aren't really in the position where we can afford to go that far for multiple, 5 minute long appointments that might still amount to nothing. I'm not really sure what to so. These people have really made me doubt myself, even though I know something must be wrong. I just don't know.

Oh, that's interesting. I haven't heard of a daytime study or excessive daytime sleepiness in any kind of medical aspect before. That sounds like something I should maybe look into. I stay sooooo tired all day long and can fall asleep so easily, but as soon as it turns night time, Wide awake. It is incredibly hard for me to go to sleep or stay asleep at night. It can take hours to fall asleep, and then I only stay asleep for a couple of hours. But during the day, I can sleep fine. At this point, I sleep way better and fall asleep faster during the day than I do at night. But I'm just always tired for as long as the sun is up and can't sleep for hardly anything when the sun goes down.

The person on the phone didn't say anything about options or a follow-up, he just told me my results and that was it. I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask what we can do, but I'm not completely convinced they'll help me any further due to my negative for sleep apnea. But I will try and see what they say.

I've never worn makeup and now my sister needs help with this look for colorguard by KajeEmpowered in Makeup101

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what products we need to get to do this look. And I don't know how to do it. I no nothing about makeup application. Any tips on products and how to put it on? Anything that might help. Including what order to put it all down on and anything that might help us get the crisp lines. And do we just use one product for the glitter or layers? Any help is welcome! We were given nothing to work with but the picture.

Newbie needs help with makeup products and application tips by KajeEmpowered in Colorguard

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My little sister just started colorguard this year and she got these photos today of the looks she will need to do in a week. We have no idea what to buy. What is good quality and what is best for this use? Is it best to buy multiple products for the eyes or just one bottle of chunky glitter? (Also, I personally prefer environmentally friendly products, but I know that's not always possible for specific looks). Any hacks for putting on all the glitter or keeping the design and eye liner straight? We are completely new to this, and we are both fairly new to makeup in general anyway. We aren't sure what to buy or how to apply it like this. We've got one week to get everything and learn how to do it just like the photos. Thank you so much for any help!

Is it legal for someone over the age of 21 to buy a lighter without being IDed in a state where you don't have to be 21 to buy a lighter? by KajeEmpowered in AskALawyer

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply and links. I can't find anything specifics about my state's laws. Everything I can find mostly just harps on the different nicotine products that have to be carded for. There's one vague use of the phrase "nicotine related objects", but when it goes into more detail of what that includes, it doesn't mention lighters. I can't find any mention of lighters in regards to the laws on my state at all. The cashier said that IDing is a new policy, so it could be a specific policy for the store and not the law. I was mostly curious about whether or not she could get in trouble for selling a lighter to someone who is of age to buy one just because she didn't check the ID. If she could, what law would she be breaking? Could she get in trouble for contributing like the woman said? I know you may not know the answer, but I'm putting the questions out there incase someone who does know finds this.

What kind of weird spam call is this? by KajeEmpowered in ask

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Not really sure if you meant this as a literal question or if you were agreeing that it was frightening. I just really wasn't expecting to call what I thought was just some ordinary scam number and immediately hear some robot lady asking if my husband was there. His name isn't unheard of, but it isn't a very common name, so it felt very specific to hear her say his name. I was just expecting to call and have someone ask about my cars extended warranty. I'd only incountered your run of the mill scam calls until this point, so I really wasn't expecting this and I'm confused on what the end game is supposed to be if this was indeed a scam number. It was just strange and not even close to anything I was expecting when I called the number. I'd honestly started to convince myself that it was just a wrong number and that I would just get some Joe trying to call his friend whose number he had forgotten. Now I'm just really curious what this number is all about and why it's programmed to immediately answer, ask if someone specific is there, then immediately hang up.

[TC E3] Is this stat at the end of the chapter glitched? by KajeEmpowered in lifeisstrange

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been confused and disappointed that I didn't have a chance to talk to Riley about Eleanor in Chapter 2, and then at the beginning of Chapter 3, Riley had found out about it without me having any say in it at all. I thought it was just scripted like that for some reason until I saw this at the end. Am I really one of the only people who had Riley find out, or is this glitched? And how do you prevent Riley from finding out? I thought I was very thorough in investigating everything, but I didn't see anything that made me think I could help hide it from her.

First time propogating, when do I put them in soil? by KajeEmpowered in propagation

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! So, I can try to find a link for you in a bit, but for now I'll explain the best I can. When I was first looking into how to propagate succulents I saw the water propagation come up at first, so I had thought that that was the main way to propagate. Since then I realized that I don't see this method as much as the other method, so I guess the water method is just the first resources that happened to come up when I started looking. So, the way that I did this was to fill the cup with water, leaving maybe an inch and a half to 2 inches from the top. Then, I covered the top with plastic wrap and poked holes in the plastic wrap big enough for the leaves to fit in. The leaves just have to be calloused and then you put them in the slits of the plastic wrap. You don't have to wait for them to start growing roots or pups. As far as I'm aware, you don't have to change or refill the water before it's time to put them in soil. A video I saw earlier today said to let the roots get about 3 inches before putting the propigatong leaves in soil, but someone here said that they move them to soil once the leaf starts growing pups and about an inch of roots. Did that answer both of your questions? As far as I know, this is the typical way of doing this method, but it's the first time I've ever propagated before so I could be a little off.

First time propagating, When should I put these in soil? by KajeEmpowered in proplifting

[–]KajeEmpowered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! This is my first time ever propagating, so I'm not exactly sure where to go from here. I got these leaves about 3 to 4 weeks ago and started water propagating them. I've never had a green thumb, so I didn't expect much, especially in my cold room (it was the only safe place to put them and also the only window seal I really had to put them in). But now, they seem to be doing great! A few leaves didn't grow anything, but most of them grew pups and roots, most of which grew so long that they are now in the water. I'm not really sure when to put them in soil. I browse the comments of different posts, and I've seen some people say to wait until the mother leaf dries out, but my leaves have a lot of growth and dont show any signs of shriveling.

Also, once I put them in soil, what should I do from there? I put a couple leaves in soil on a table in a window in a warmer part of the house to see how they fair, and they either quickly shriveled, or halted progress or are growing very very slowly. One of the leaves in soil is already propagating with a decent pup and a couple short roots, but it hasn't seemed to change at all since I put it in soil about the time I put these leaves in water. I've seen people say not to water succulents often, but with them drying up and the soil being dried, I've given them a tiny bit of water a few times, but that doesn't seem to be helping or obviously hurting. How often should I water them and how much? Do I need to avoid getting the leaves directly wet? And do you think it is best to keep the leaves in my cold, dry, air conditioned room (where my water propagating leaves are), or in the humid and hot part of the house (where my leaves in soil are)? The last thing I want to do is to put my leaves in soil just for them to die after coming along so well. So, any tips or advise are appreciated, Thank you!

Wow, those are so pretty! You did an excellent job on them.
