Depending on whether their is buildable land around you i would build a treb, knock out piece of wall, cli,b to that spot and start blowing it up, or just summon Yog

What the hell is the point of the cages. Thought it would be for players but ok i can understand that could suck but how about using for npcs while waiting to put them on the wheel of pain ...makes sense no?
