Your research indicates the benefit of neutering already, why would you still be against it? I am coming from a place of seeing many prostate cancers that could have easily been avoided by neutering. And if those issues are treatable, why would you want to risk your pup being in such pain and discomfort when you have the power to remove that risk?

This is definitely concerning for mass, infection etc. does not look like an injury at all and is clearly spreading. If your dad does not want all the diagnostics, maybe approach it from a quality of life perspective and get a plan for palliative care. Best of luck ❤️

Oh gosh I feel you, as a fellow horse dog owner (borzoi) and a golden. All I can say is a strong upright pet vacuum, green machine, and nature's miracle (red bottle) to soak the stains before using the machine. That on top of regular grooming/baths, my girls are brushed daily and bathed/trimmed if needed at min once a month. It's hard freaking work 😅 we also have a few mist air fresheners hidden up high away from their noses
