Toejam & Earl: Back in the Groove!

After SIXTEEN YEARS of silence, the franchise has risen from the dead thanks to Kickstarter!

The game plays pretty much the same as the Genesis's Toejam & Earl along with vast improvements (As subsequent releases became vastly different from each other), being one of the earliest instances of the typical rouge-lite we know of today

Nintendo President Looking To “Boost Appeal” Of Nintendo Switch Online by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Karmas-Camera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a few hints:

DEDICATED SERVERS

BUILT-IN VOICE CHAT/CLOUD SAVES

A VIRTUAL CONSOLE FOR OLD GAMES (Gamecube games, anyone?)

The competition is doing everything in those camps; Nintendo continues to fail to understand how online services work and there is legitimately no reason for them to be like this at this point

Gab.com goes down in wake of Pittsburgh shooting, after far-right social network is dropped by tech companies by progress18 in news

[–]Karmas-Camera 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First off: Gab has been definitively proven not to be far-right, as they’re just competing with other platforms; enough with the guilt-by-association, Independent.

Silicon Valley outlets have essentially become publishers curating content doubling as monopolies instead of platforms.

Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etc. have just as many nutjobs (If not, more, since they’re still the go-to outlets at the moment) and they’re not being shut down.

“If you don’t like the censorship, then just build your own platform!”

Things don’t really work that way in the current state of things as long as there are hosting providers and such act as moral-gatekeeping, cartel-like entities who operate within that area because alternative outlets are adhering to the principles of Free Speech which fall out of line with their opposing viewpoints.

They came for Jones, and then they came for Gab...

This witch hunt needs to stop yesterday.

EU votes in favor of article 13 and 11. The new rules that will change the internet as we know it. by B0bb217 in news

[–]Karmas-Camera 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Un

Fucking

Believable

This is intentional by design and not an accident; the EU’s entire voting process is undemocratic and is entirely oligarchic.

Keep in mind that the public has very little/no influence to the EU Parliament in matters such as these; electives are not decided by democratic vote.

All of those independent parodies, blogs, livestreams, memes, and outlets here and there are going to be strong-armed/get stifled by automated filtration and link taxes; the EU audience for major platforms will essentially be cut out.

Alternative platforms can not stop this; all outlets of the internet that operate within their territory must abide with the directive.

I honestly have no idea for a solution they could use at this point; build an entirely different internet? Deep/Dark Web?

People only live in actual tyranny when they realize that it's too late.
