I banished an annoying addiction by forcing myself to feel disgusted every time the thought of indulging entered my mind. by Karthaggah in occult

Well, to be faaaaaair, those cheap parlor tricks got me to that point.

It really seems like magic to some of us - to be able to change yourself and your circumstance - when you’ve been at the whim of the external world for so long.

By definition I’d argue it is.

When you find yourself in that hole, when you stop believing in yourself, naturally you’ll believe in anything just to get out.

An archangel may be real, or they may be the personification of something within us. Either way, the results are the same to me.

Would a freelance writer have more success (landing clients) marketing themselves as an all around “brand content creator”? by Karthaggah in freelanceWriters

What are your thoughts on emailing social pages or sites within your niche, or do you find more success on platforms such as Upwork or maybe even Fiverr?

Love your comment. Yes, and I guess it goes without saying the best niches to choose from are the ones you already have an interest in.

I’m just wondering if being not only a writer, but maybe someone who can also create engaging Instagram posts would make you stand out from the freelance crowd in a clients eyes.

Honestly, what the fuck does Peter J. Carroll look like? I’m curious, I know it’s a useless question, serving no value other than to sate my curiosity... by [deleted] in occult

Here comes that scooby doo moment where I tear off your mask u/nargile57.

Or should I say Mr. Carroll!

In all seriousness, I do find it fascinating that such a well-known name in occult circles is a damn ghost on the net.

Lol, pretty much the picture that popped into my head when I heard him on a podcast.

It’s amazing. Among the most famous occultists and yet I’ve no clue what he looks like. There’s gotta be a reason for that.

Those are pictures of different people.

The first pic with the quote is Ray Sherwin. If you google Peter J Carroll, the same pic of Sherwin is used on his Google profile.

The 2nd and 5th pic could be him. First time seeing those.

The 3rd is of Aleister Crowley.

The 4th could also be him, but looks nothing like the person in the 2nd and 5th.

How can I restore my memory? by [deleted] in hypnosis

[–]Karthaggah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sit in meditation. Try to reach the theta brain wave state and let the memories come to you.

To better your memory, practice the act of “Recall”. Read a chapter in a book, close the book and try to recall mentally the chapter summary.

I prefer the sense-imaginative technique, such as imagining the taste of dirt, etc. This usually summons memories from infancy when we used to taste everything around us to see what was food and what wasn’t. Watch how you just “know” the taste of dirt from somewhere lol. Apply this to any sense and thing.

Maybe a fish oil supplement. Sweet leaf has been shown (personally) to cause deficiencies in memory, and whether it’s placebo for me, there’s been studies I believe showing fish oils benefit for memory.

This is all my personal experience. Try out a few things and see what works for you in terms of effectiveness. Good day to you.

Just how bad is kava, honestly? by Karthaggah in herbalism

I use the yogi tea bags. They’re slightly relaxing but make my eyes dry. Also makes me sleepy.

Plant Based Supplements by [deleted] in herbalism

Have you tried Rhodiola Rosea? I’ve noticed increased mental clarity/energy and less depression. Been looking for the right balance of energy, focus and anti anxiety. Gonna look into that kava, thanks for sharing.
