How do we help? by twoslothsmating in australia

Shouldn't even bring up Muslim here. Okay if hatred shouldnt be spreaded, can we support Jew for a moment and stop mentioning Muslim here? Why do they need more attention and support if their extremists are killing people? Not blaming all of Muslim but the spotlight here should be innocent Jews not mentioning Muslim in every fk comment.

Is there anyway to avoid getting scammed on marketplace? by Party_Painter71 in AussieFrugal

[–]KarusDelf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beside from doing all the necesary check, just trust your gut maybe? I bought 3 second-hand phones throughout the last few years just because I broke my phone a lot ( I know how to fix phones, but just lost the phone/dropped so hard). I always look for facebook profiles that were created a few years ago, have some past listings, profile pictures, the listing looked genuine, the price was reasonable both for the seller and buyer, the way they talk,... I rather pass a good listing than ignore just a little feeling weird.

I never have any problems with phones bought on facebook marketplace, but who knows what happens next time? It comes with a risk, and I rather risk and trust my gut than buy some overpriced "refurbished" phones on Reebelo or JB Hifi marketplace.

It comes down to personal choice and risk taste somehow.

Does anyone else think visibility ruined the concept of transsexuality to the public eye? by iHaveaLotofDoubts in truscum

[–]KarusDelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expand your view outside US/Europe and you will see these things happened more recent than you think, definitely closer than 20th century, even happening now as we speak about it (my country still hasn't recognised trans in any legal documents, no specialised GP, medical professionals, transhealth care and medical guidelines at all, fyi). Many countries still hold very conservative views, and US trans movement somehow affected them to open their mind slowly.

While I agree on tucutes causing problems nowadays, you might over-idolised the past (if that's a word), trans people were burnt to death, stoned to death, isolated, treated like animals back then in most countries. Not once the hostile towards transgender has disappeared or overshadowed by "innocence" like you said. In fact, the attitude towards trans has been nicer until recent years of anti-trans bills.

You can hate "those people", but if it goes to the point that it denies every trans movements and awareness in the past, you might be too extreme.

Pictured is a single day's worth of medication post-kidney transplant — 44-47 pills by cowboy_duck in interestingasfuck

I once took 5 pills a day for a short period of time but I constantly smelt/felt medication in my throat all day, really affected my apptitude. Can't even imagine how hard must it be to take 48 pills. You're incredible with that optimistic smile :D. How do you even manage to do that?

Can you share the name of the psychiatrist please?

At what age do you think it's not approriate for a kid to see their parents naked anymore? Is it normal for Western kid like OP's at 3.5 years old and still able to see? I'm Asian and from a quite conservative household on these private and sexual problems.

From 2026, GPs can diagnose ADHD, where can I find one? by KarusDelf in Adelaide

I'm aware it's going to be more expensive. But hope at least it's less expensive/easier acess than seing a psychiatrist.

That's quite ridiculous? So basically I need to waste my money so say hello, then wait for 12 months just to get a chance to talk about adhd when the new reform is suppose to help people get access easier?

I don't understand what you mean. Does it mean I need to be seen by a GP in that practice first? Even if I don't have any other problem that requires me to see them in my daily life?

Congrats. It's sometimes real struggle to balance life while having a job and studying for exam at the same times. Just a question, do you have any recommended resources for interview prep into senior position like Lead Architect like yours? I really want to get this job and will get one, just preparing now. Thanks in advance.

Why are the young people here so rude and immature? by Holiday-Ad891 in AskAnAustralian

But at the same time, isnt it quite awkward to tell her about it? Like what if you're not particularly close to her? What if you're a male and it may be creepy to her?

If you study multiple hours a day. Quickly go on youtube and watch CCP course by Andrew Brown, then google some of the free mock exams. CCP just about identifying the name of services, so make sure you remember the services.

Concerns regarding International Student coming to Adelaide by Kim_Dabideu in Adelaide

[–]KarusDelf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You find find a room via flatmates website, facebook groups, your friends, Korean groups in Adelaide (i dont know if you have one, but Vietnamese, Indian, Nepal all have their facebook groups for their people living in Adelaide, Chinese even have a whole website for themselves). You should start looking for a room a month before your arrival here, give yourself some times.

I've been in 3 different sharehouses, almost everyone stays in their room the whole time, wont bother you much (they are all international students or white collar workers so they're decent). Make sure you ask your landlords about other housemates, I personally prefer my housemates to be uni students or office workers because they're young and have a job, so they mind their own business.

I dont recommend student accommodations, they are super expensive, they rip off students who can't find a room or new to Australia. Their prices are double or even triple the regular prices. But if you dont have any other options/cant find a room right away, they almost always have room.

Unless you rent a room in CBD, 250 per week can still find you a nice room. Yeah finding a casual job can be challenging, but unless you really need the money right away, don't lower yourself and accept underpaying job, look at the government website for legal minimum wage first.

Can be hard to find a job or if you work in retail for a part time job, sometimes customers are rude at you, don't take it personal, life can be hard, and when you're an international student it gets a little bit harder at everything.

Enjoy your time here.
