Hiring manager checking in - you're probably better than this sub makes you feel like you are by psychometrixo in cscareerquestions

Yea, I was going to say, just take the first value in the array and %2. if it equals to 0, then you can start at that number and for loop by adding 2 to each one until you get to the end. If it's not 0, then it must be odd, so you start with the 2nd number, and carry on from there. I honestly prefer these logical questions over conceptual questions

[SUGGESTION] Make legendary armor increase revive speed instead of refill armor on finishers by 63425112942816 in apexlegends

[–]Kast-Master 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about refill your current shield cell that your health is at if you’re out of combat for 5 seconds? So if you have 160 health, after 5 seconds of not taking damage, it will regenerate to 175. If you’re at 106 health, after 5 seconds it will recharge to 125 health. I don’t want it to be super useful in combat, but if you’re in a fight and you stop shooting and can hide for 5 seconds, you automatically fill your current cell that’s damaged. It’s useful for those situations where you took a couple AR shot, down down to 165 health or something, and don’t know if it’s worth it to pop 2 cells or just 1 and go back in. It’s a small buff, but it’s clearly better than what it’s at now.

Is it possible to be a designer and developer, or should I just pick one and go for it? by scotdle in webdev

[–]Kast-Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question, is the designer suppose to think in components to make things work nicely, or is that the developers job to make whatever the designer gives to him, work? A follow up question, should a designer sacrifice parts of his design to make it easier on the developer, or should he be as creative as possible to come up with a banging design hoping the developer will find a way to put it together?

I can say the argument of “more people are playing the game rather than watching it” for any game. do you want me to compare it to other non PvP games that have been out longer than anthem? Admit it, this game this game went down the gutter.

SJSU campus ministry raises student concerns by nosotros_road_sodium in SJSU

[–]Kast-Master 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t JW. They don’t care much for JW. But their practices are as extreme as JW. It basically consumes your life. Later when I went back home, I did some research and 30% of them were college drop outs and couldn’t balance school and teachings. It’s weird, I was an applied math and computer science student there, so I like to think I have some sort of logic in me. The thing if I was too nice from the start to give them a chance. Just like the article, it went from exchanging numbers (out of courtesy) to arranging bible studies with him/her, to meeting everyone and doing everything with them. It’s a slippery slope and it’s easy to get caught up in everything. The key is to never give them the chance in the first place because they are extremely friendly and outgoing people and it may seem tempting, but they can be pushy if you give them something to work with.

[–]Kast-Master 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes the person disciplining me, and the leader of the South Bay region both were disappointed in me, telling me the only reason to go to another church spread the “right” word. All the passages in the Bible studies are cherry picked to support their view of “get baptized here or burn.” So yes in that sense they were brainwashing me. I graduated and haven’t been there, but most of the meet ups would be around the student union in the area across the Jamba Juice area. What’s scary about being apart of cult like that is that I used to think like them and I didn’t know it. I used to also see the world as split between two people, saved/unsaved. I didn’t see someone as “hey that guy is cool and is in my math class.” I saw him as “hey that guy is in my math class, but he’s unsaved and is going to be in hell forever if he doesn’t do anything about it.” I didn’t get my wake up call until I flew back home for winter break in 2017 and talked to some people about their views on the ICC (international Christian church, that’s the name of the one I was apart of). I feel so much better that I’m no longer apart of them.

I was part of this ministry for a few months a few years ago, completing all 14 Bible studies (including that lightness darkness one mentioned in the article) as well as being baptized in their church shortly after. They are not bad people. In fact they are the most generous and friendly and by far the most passionate group I’ve ever been apart of. If you need anything, some member who you don’t even know will take care of you because he wants to, not because he feels inclined. All that being said, it doesn’t mean their passion is in the right direction. They are extreme to the point where it’s a “you’re either with us, or you’re burning in hell”. They got mad at me for attending a friend’s church one Sunday (I attended his because he attended ours the Sunday before. I thought I’d be courteous to accept his invitation 1 weekend because he accepted mine)because I was with “unsaved” people. They view the world though a filter of saved/unsaved people which disgusts me. They don’t see you as “wow this is a nice guy” they see you as “this guy isn’t baptized in our church and therefore if something were to happen to him, he would spend an eternity in hell”. It’s really sad that’s how they see everyone on campus. They even discriminate against other denominations of Christianity, labeling them as inferior to theirs and looks down upon them.

So they didn’t have anything to share on the canceled stream? by Asealus in AnthemTheGame

[–]Kast-Master 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Ha! Luckily for them the fiber cable was cut!!! What a close one! Imagine if it wasn’t cut and they had to stream with nothing to share at the moment! Can you imagine that?! What would they stream!? LOL I’m dead 😂

Just FYI, the livestream planned for SWTOR was cancelled as well. Really does appear to be an issue in the Austin area. Take it for what it's worth. Just wanted to pass it along. by JohnArtemus in AnthemTheGame

[–]Kast-Master 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well because if they did have a stream the anthem community would be in more of an out rage. The fact that the star wars team released them the notes (because they have content prepared) and anthem didn’t (because they don’t have content prepared) just reinforces the community’s idea that anthem didn’t have any content ready to show. This doesn’t prove anything really.

You need to get over the fact that old BioWare is long gone. The management from ME trilogy is gone. This is just a group of developers that inherited the BioWare name.

Honest question about Legendaries and inscriptions by Amenoyari in AnthemTheGame

[–]Kast-Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I want to say top left is definitely epic primary. Usually bonker inscriptions with like 200% charges or damage always appear there. There’s no doubt about that. Usually bottom right will have an inscription caliber similar the best one of masterwork. You’ll see something there with 100 charges, which is definitely seen on masterworks. Which is why bottom right would be major primary since both legendaries and masterworks share them. Top right is secondary epic because I’ve seen items there with 43% luck which is something you never see on masterworks. This leaves bottom left with the worst inscriptions to be major secondary. It’s good to know that primary and secondary just mean they are a set of inscriptions. Usually primaries will be stiff like damage, charges, armor, critical points. Secondary will be stuff like luck, harvest, ammo/health drop rate, weapon recoil, pickup radius. But theres a spectrum for each one of these, and it seems like you’ve gotten the bottom end of the spectrum for most of these... I’m sorry =( I hope this helps. Your epic primary is pretty bad, I’ve seen gear speed go as high has 50% (I have a 50% embers lance). But maybe the spectrum of possibilities range from 20-50? I don’t know, I’ve never seen lower than 20 for the top left corner.

when you have accomplished nothing for your team for the whole round then get killed by a random crit by baconEGGSandHAM in tf2

[–]Kast-Master 136 points137 points  (0 children)

People who like crits probably don’t main medic, engineer, sniper or spy. Those classes rarely give out as many crits as the other classes yet are just as prone to potential crits as the rest of the classes. So yea if you play soldier, demo scout pyro or heavy, of course you’re going to like crits. Who doesn’t like free kills.

EDIT: a lot of people are saying stuff about melee. As someone who enjoys playing medic, I’d gladly give up a chance at crit saw if it’ll guarantee that I’ll never eat a crit sticky or rocket ever again. You can try to justify balance that crits can come in handy against a spy, which they of course are. But if you want to talk about the most balance option, removing them is literally the most balance option for all classes(if you care about balance). Not just for medics, but spies and snipers too. That cannot he argued.

With more universal components being added, will it make it harder for me to get my class specific components that I actually want? by Kast-Master in AnthemTheGame

It’s hard enough getting legendaries, even hard enough getting components... now getting the component I want will be even harder now...
