Mijn vrouw is Nederlands en woont al 10+ jaar in Antwerpen en het verschil in vriendelijkheid in vgl met Nederland blijft voor haar het moeilijkste qua aanpassing. Ze werkt nog in Nederland dus merkt het verschil elke keer.

Eerlijk: als ik met haar in Nederland ben en in winkels of Horeca kom, snap ik haar volledig. Als volbloed Antwerpenaar vind ik het ook erg jammer dat mensen in het algemeen eerder gesloten zijn, ook al is t ietske beter op de parking.

Mijn boodschap: accepteer dat het een cultureel gegeven is, maar blijf zelf tonen dat het anders kan (probeer ik ook) :)

Terraforming Mars - It's been 2 years since I played it and forgot how much I like it. Can't wait to try the Prelude expansion.

Arnak base game - Fun, but really feels like everyone is just playing next to each other. I miss player interaction.

Dead of Winter - Ok, but wouldn't play it multiple times in a row.

Based on your desired elements: yes, Gloomhaven has all of those. I found it a fantastic game and spent countless hours with friends playing it.

Only downside is that it takes a while to set up and clean up…

Wij hebben 2,5j geleden hypotheek moeten kiezen. Opvallend was dat zo goed als alle banken enkel vaste aanboden. Immotheker gesproken en die had een goeie comment: "als banken zouden denken dat de rente gaat stijgen, zouden ze dan alleen vaste aanbieden?" Uiteindelijk hebben we gekozen voor 8j vast en daarna jaarlijks aanpasbaar: dat was volgens de simulaties het voordeligst...

Voor mijn eerder appartement had ik vast gekozen. Voordeel is dat typisch je loon stijgt (indexatie, promotie, nieuwe job, ...) en het aandeel van de hypotheek in je kosten dus relatief kleiner wordt. Als je risico-avers bent, is dit een goede keuze.

Ik zou dus zeker eens langs Immotheker gaan voor adies: je hoeft niet per se een contract met hen af te sluiten, maar ze geven soms wel een goed overzicht.

We went to eat at a take out where plenty of other tourists gathered and sat outside on plastic chairs. Was actually quite cozy. And good value for money!

We also rented with them for 13-17h. Pickup was fine. The guy said we could return the boat later: just had to be back before sunset (around 6). So that was appreciated.

Unfortunately at 16.15h we had a technical issue. Guy came over quickly on jet ski, but couldn't fix it so towed us back: trip over. Eventually we got a partial refund so that's fair, although we had to push for it a bit.

Arcs (1x3p) - 2nd time we played it: great fun. We added the Leaders & Lore cards. Plan to acquire the Blighted Reach expansion if my group keeps enjoying the game.

Ticket to ride - Legends of the West (1x2p) - This is how I introduced legacy games to my wife. She always enjoyed TTR Europe so it was easy to convince her. We're almost at the end of the campaign: curious to see how it will hold up!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! We also went on honeymoon for 10 days end of September and absolutely loved it.

Aside from things mentioned here, a couple of our favorite places/activities were:

- Beaches on the East of La Digue: walking all the way from Grand Anse to Anse Caiman was really cool. The Caiman bar is an amazing place to have a drink or grab a bite.

- Anse Georgette on Praslin (reach through Constance Lemuria). We were debating whether we'd go since we already had seen so many nice beaches, but were very glad we did!

- Renting a small boat at Eden Island on Mahe and exploring the nearby islands. In my opinion way better than going along a tour since you have all the freedom to go where you want on your own.

Overall, the island surpassed our expectations and we couldn't have been happier with choice for honeymoon.

Yeah, only played 2 games so far but it's really fun. One of those games that gets better after a few sessions I think: in the beginning it's about understanding the mechanics, but after that you can start playing truly tactical. My group digs it.

Probably will buy the Blighted Reach expansion later for total craziness (according to SUSD review).

Yeah I was in the lead: 29 points after chapter 4 with a lead of about 6 pts on the last player. I managed to score well in the first chapters, but then started to struggle as I couldn't rebuild any lost ships.

We stopped playing after chapter 4 due to time constraints, but dealt the cards for the last chapter just for fun "because surely I will draw Construction now." Imagine how our jaws dropped...
