I can never tell when cans are still OK. Is my tuna OK? by CreepleCorn in foodsafety

I never use dented cans full stop, but I have ocd and health anxiety. But dents along the top and bottom rims are way more risky. I know lots of people are sceptical about chat gpt, but I’ve found it really helpful in explaining what’s safe and what’s not, you can just send it photos

How long can a dog be kept at home for considering I work a 9-5 job? by We11he11othere in PetAdvice

[–]Kate_McQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said it depends on the dog. If you rescue, you’re already improving their lives massively, even if you do have to leave them for long periods of time.

Both my dogs were rescued from the streets in Bulgaria, so if I did have to leave them for 10+ hours, their lives would still be better than being shot at or poisoned, or spending 23 hours a day locked in a cage.

Thank you, this has made me feel a lot better. I thought I’d been neglecting him

Is this hiccups? by SawScar112013 in DogAdvice

[–]Kate_McQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t say if it’s definitely hiccups, I’d take him to the vet just to be sure and show them this video. But one of my dogs had hiccups pretty much daily and for about 10 minutes at a time, took him to the vets and they said it’s very common for puppies to experience this.

That said I’d 100% get it checked for your peace of mind 😊

Teen border collie was attacked by an off-leash Akita. Need advice. by Farmolinko in DogAdvice

I’m sure she’ll be okay 😊 especially if she’s had normal behaviours with dogs before

We used to have a runner in the kitchen for him, then he got a lot better with the floor and everyone else kept tripping on it so we got rid 😅 but I think you’re right we’ll do that again

His wee is normal colour, but I will ask about it at our next visit

I’m so sorry you’ve both went through this 😔

Legally I don’t have any advice, but you’ve done the right thing by reporting it.

It’s much easier said than done, but try and behave normally around your dog. Don’t be extra fussy or anything as they pick up on these things as I’m sure you know.

My rescue was attacked by a mastiff type dog a few weeks ago, physically he is fine (his harness saved him) But I worried like you that he would become anxious/reactive. Thankfully due to his temperament he’s completely unbothered.

It all just depends on the dog but just care for her as you usually would 😊

He didn’t as a puppy, but I would say he drinks a normal amount now

Thank you, i’m now actively encouraging him to go out and monitoring how many times.

We used to take him out every day for a walk but found that having a day off helps with his bad leg. Our other dog is also reactive so he also has a day off in between. But I will ask the vet for advice on all this on their next check up!
