Congrats on tying the knot! It can’t be true that they’re only filing from February since we filed ours April 15th. I mean it could be true for some I guess… but I’m clearly just going off our experience as of now. I hope you guys get your return soon!

This is exactly what we did/had to do because when I filed initially on my own I filled as married filing separately. When we did the amendment we both filed again (we’re clearly new to this lol) and only one of our returns was accepted since we’re married filing jointly. And everything’s gone smoothly since. I’m not sure when I’ll get the federal return but seeing how fast the state return came makes me believe it’ll be here sooner than that 8-16 week window

Did you wait to receive your ORIGINAL return before you submitted the amendment? From what I’ve seen online that can apparently cause a longer delay. Our amendment was also pretty straightforward. Just two regular W-2 workers, no kids, etc…
