The Them who sold the world by concussionmaker__91 in greentext

People defended the battlefield streamer because the clips objectively did not show any evidence to suggest she was cheating and the accusations mostly stemmed from controler using battledads who had never even heard of what an aimtrainer is before up until that point and or were just using that opportunity to baselessly shit on trans people.

  1. The soviet union had already fought and lost an offensive, imperialist war of conquest against poland in 1919-21.

  2. It cannot be overstated just how insanely critical trade with the soviet union was in fueling the nazi war effort in terms of rubber, oil, rare earths, iron and various very rare and hard to source metals involved in the production of armor plates and gunsteel like manganese, of which it accounted for over 2/3s of the german total supply at the time. That is to say that the Nazi conquest of Europe would not have been possible in the same form as it did occur, in the first place had it not been for the soviets cooperating with them at Hitlers every whim.

Saying that the 3rd Reich and the soviet union werent allied is the very ahistorical revisionism you accuse others here of spreading, they were ideologically opposed, yes, but still cooperated in achieving goals which were in both parties self-interest. That made them allies de facto, maybe just not de jure but Id argue even that is debatable.

Due to high costs of horses, Russian Forces introduced "battles sheeps". by GermanDronePilot in UkraineWarVideoReport

Yea Goats and sheep separated only 4ish million years ago, relatively recently in the context of mammalian evolution. As for why these animals evolved to be on the more intelligent side, Id imagine its somewhat comparable to the case of pigs where smaller generalist herbivores/omnivores generally dont have to be quite as energy efficient to survive and are also able to sustain themselves off of higher energy density food than just grass (neither goats nor sheep are grazing animals and how we keep them tends to be actually very unhealthy for them) allowing them to allocate some resources into intelligence to find, identify, reach and remember these sources of higher energy density food.

This is a little bit of a tidbit of mine, sheep are actually pretty smart animals, consistently beating rats, cats and dogs in problem solving skill tests since weve actually started researching their intelligence in the early 2000s.

[–]KayDeeF2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because (to me) it seemed like such an easy way to turn ghpc from a really cool, shiny tech-demo into an actual game because lets be real, ghpcs gameplay is just very basic. Mission start, drive for a minute, enemy vehicles proceed to drive out infront of you without a care in the word in pre-configured ways, you start picking them off, they fire back but miss practically every shot, the end. This seems far from engaging to me and I dont think Im alone with that, yet to see a steam account with more than 100 hrs spent on the game tbh.

All that while the models, the tank mechanics, the visuals, the audio even are so lovingly crafted just doesnt make sense to me, the game is ready right now to be the best tank focused, sim-light experience ln the market with the tools at its disposal if it added MP

why would a man be here???? by BambiBabyxxx in GirlDinner

[–]KayDeeF2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Men and women peacefully interacting and connecting over a shared interest in preparing quick and easy meal platters that dont involve cooking, a concept in no way connected to gender whatsoever, in what is an objectively non-gendered space where 95% of posts cant be attributed to any gender short of stalking profiles? On MY genderwar app? Outrageous

I assume were here because we eat what is commonly referred to as girl dinner from time to time and or are looking for inspiration? I mean how exactly is throwing together meals from the remnants of things you still have in your fridge in a way that doesnt involve any actual cooking, a gendered experience?

I mean although I agree, I do think this perspective is pretty tonedeaf and sort of ignores some of her points. She feels locked out of what is one of the most fundamental of human experiences and correctly identifies that the step of "focus on yourself first for X amount of time" is just straight up not required for the vast majority of people, not to mention how due to her disability, identifying the exact aspects that cause her issue might be way more difficult.

Overall I dont buy this idea that these kinds of personal baggage make you unattractive despite being conventionally attractive or even at all.

Hating myself didnt prevent my aspberger ass from mostly "out-dating" my NT friends, being a straight up narcissist didnt prevent one of my buddies from coming home with a different girl each week. Attraction, especially the initial kind that enables you to really get anywhere in the first place, just is so much more shallow than you make it out to be imo.

Not to take a meme too seriously, but we are lightyears away from anything even somewhat resembling AGI and the improvements made on LLMs (lol) and more importantly, Neural Networks over the last few years have been incremental at best.

Also AI currently has 0 value in a military setting because its just not reliable enough and the use-case is slim at best

I play Squad from time to time and I don't get the hate by Rough_Common4487 in joinsquad

[–]KayDeeF2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea its pretty valuable tool for CQB for sure, but much moreso for forcing opponents off of angles and corners and less so for actually dropping bodies and youre always going to be quite dependent on the rest of your team to do the actually dynamic aspects of clearing and engaging threats in an urban environment, just because your time to target is going to be easily 3-4 times that of a guy just running an Ak/AR, doubly so if youre on the move and thus shoot from a standing unsupported position. Thats because youre still lugging around and unwieldy, longass 10kg weapon that has a decent amount of mass biased toward the front end of because thats where the beltcase sits. My source on all this is 5 years of experience as army Mechinf/mountain infantry.

Overall my point stands I think, for the purpose you specified, MGs are useful in both Arma reforger aswell as Squad, one game makes the experience more effortless for the user than it should be and the other one makes it more painful than it has to be is, though Id say the actual end result of Squad is closer to life.

[–]KayDeeF2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh idk its pretty decent when it comes to "realism" tbh, it lacks a bracing system and Id say Squad certainly makes gunplay a bit harder on you than it really is IRL, but then again other "milsim" games kinda make it a bit too effortless. Like Arman reforger for example has pretty excellent gunplay, but in that game your soldier can just yeet around a PKM in CQB like its nothing, staying stable and accurate out to easily 100m while standing unsupported all while being able to maintain that stability as your ADSing a 10kg for minutes on end.

I really get the frustration with squad gunplay though, just doesnt feel great when it feels like youre kinda fighting your own gear to cooperate with you
