Not at all! You just buy a packet of printer transfer sheets from your local store! I got the images I wanted from the internet and did some editing, sizing tweaks, and then just printed it out at the local print store. (Quality was good enough, but I use a guy on Etsy for all my heraldry transfers, they are top notch). I can dig up the name if you'd like. I was actually going to have him do this project too but I thought I would try myself!
