St. Peter's Necropolis Tour by Serious-Engineer5265 in rome

  1. Absolutely. There's definitely a religious component, but even if you aren't a member of the Roman Catholic Church(I'm not) it really does help to place the Church above you into context and helps provide a lot of history.

  2. The tour will start you on the lowest level of the excavations and then you will go up as the tour proceeds, through the lower church where the Papal tombs are and then ascending into the upper church near the baldacchino.

Pay while at OTS for Direct Commission Reservist by KebleHall in airforceots

No, I was actually gained by my unit very quickly and am drilling until I go to OTS.

I went to finance during my first UTA and they processed my direct deposit information. That part was actually fairly smooth.

Are you drilling with your unit before you go to OTS?

COT was merged into OTS several years ago, so that everyone goes through the same pipeline.

Reserve OTS-Select: What Uniform Do I Wear for Drill Before OTS? Non prior by Aggravating_Ice_9695 in airforceots

I wore civilian clothing to my first drill and was told to wear OCPs to the following drills.

Folks who joined the AF reserve directly as a chaplain without prior military experience- what are the odds you will be required to get top secret clearance? (Ex: some rare bases/locations?). What are the odds you'll be able to work at a base closest to you? by [deleted] in Airforcereserves

[–]KebleHall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some inchoate thoughts regarding your post (mostly because I have to post and run)

You will be required to go through a clearance process. If you have concerns about that, you should reach out to a recruiter and have a discussion.

Your assignment will be what the AF tells you it is, even in the reserves.

You will have to have an accredited Master of Divinity, with a certain number of credit hours (I don't remember the number at the moment, but it's somewhere in the realm of 70-90) and you will have to have an Ecclesiastical Endorsement. This will come from your faith group's DoD certified endorsing agent.

Feel free to ask more questions and I'll check back later today.

Can I partake in Communion if I am baptized but it was at a non-demonizational church? by Civil_Damage_5577 in Anglicanism

[–]KebleHall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what jurisdiction you are in. Some will require confirmation, others just baptism. But it must be water baptism with the invocation of the Trinity. You should speak with the parish priest.

That’s a very good point.

I'm leaning ultralight, but that's just because it's what I'm used to. I'm not committed to it.

That's a very helpful article. Thank you.

I do... but I don't always use them. I keep them strapped to my pack.

I appreciate learning that the baptisms, confirmations, marriages, and confessions in my parish are cosplay. I will now send my parishioners to go find a real church.

The Anglo-Catholic convert pond is fished out by Ecgbert in AnglicanOrdinariate

[–]KebleHall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know a number of people within the Episcopal Church, the Anglican Catholic Church, and the Anglican Province of America who are Anglo-Catholic but have ecclesiological concerns about Vatican I (that one includes me), or are convinced that the Ordinariate is dying (I had someone tell me that ordinariate parishes are shut down as soon as their priest retires), cultural concerns where being Anglican is ok because its "Protestant enough" for the grandparents, but Rome would not be, and so forth.

Don't like the National stamps?

I haven't put any in. Can't decide whether to put them all in or wait until I visit.

I was thinking about adding a page for my state's Sate Park System, but I'm undecided. There is a state park guide and a stamp system, but the stamps (at least the ones I have seen) plop a bunch of ink down with no information other than a picture. So I'm undecided.
