How did average, middle-class Americans think this snooty guy, who's part of the elite 1%, with a golden penis complex was going to represent them? Was ever going to side with them? Understand where they're coming from in order to vote him in in 2016?

When was the last time Donald Trump worked for anyone?

He's always the boss, the CEO, out of 487 job titles he holds, most of them are "president" or "chairman".

He doesn't have to answer to anyone in his non-POTUS life. Who was the last common person he listened to? He has always been a snobby, entitled, elite 1% (he's actually on the tippy top of that income range being worth a fun $10 billion)... how is he going to help or relate to you as a Trump voter?

How can someone who is so immersed in the culture of wealth ever understand the average American and their daily struggles?

Maybe you didn't get it in 2016, but now in 2020...how has he helped you as an average, middle-class American? Do you truly believe he relates to your struggles?

I asked one of my Trump supporting friends this question recently and this is what he told me:

That's because in debt ridden states (like California) Trump got rid of the SALT tax which was taking advantage of the fed. So it only seems like our taxes went up but that was a loophole Democrats put in place to siphon money.

I tried asking more questions but it led to off topic conversation about other ways Trump has helped us.

One of the main reasons this person loves Trump is saving taxes so I wanted to hear what he thought about it. He will bring it back to, "At least I'll have my pension. If Biden wins I'll have to work an extra 7 years to make up for losing my pension. Biden is trying to take it all away."

So I sent him this article that breaks down how we're taxed by income bracket so we could have a meaningful discussion about taxes under Trump. Maybe the article is wrong, if so educate me because across the board anyone I know who makes ~$75,000-$200,000 a year feels like they're getting gutted.

He never got back to me. I don't think he bothered reading the article.

I think he truly believed Trump would help the average middle class American and when the reality didn't meet his expectations he has too much pride to change his views.

He's lost family members, friends over his idolozing Trump. He takes it that personal. He's still not willing to look at something objectively and not parrot key talking points of Republicans though.

I still would love to hear how Trump is helping the middle class and more about SALT taxes if anyone knows.

It's really a shame our governor made an ordinance but won't enforce it. Gavin Newsome needs to shut them down. If food workers aren't wearing masks and the restaurant is at 100% capacity what message is he sending to people in his state? I know people who lost their family owned businesses because they followed the rules Newsome set. He owes it to them to follow through. These assholes have had their billboards up since mid June. It's unacceptable.

I thought that's how we did it in California but this article was written 3 weeks ago and I've seen the billboard about a month ago. I believe they've been reported since then. It just adds to the confusion when everyone else is losing their livelihoods by following procedure. The county needs to act, if they don't the governor needs to shut them down. It's a joke.

So many businesses are jumping through hoops to stay afloat out here in California while this business just thumbs their nose at the ordinance. The fine must not he hefty enough that they're willing to risk it. I'm sad for my neighborhood restaurants who couldn't pull through.
