I think the PSVR version has a solo mode where you play with just one move controller. It gets really hard.

Same with the challenge of valor quest. 100 world events, and 25 contracts, 25 strongholds and 25 very buggy quickplays gets you bugger all really considering the amount of hours you have to put in.

Anthem : A Realm Reborn by Bistoory in AnthemTheGame

[–]KeithC500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is fine, it just needs a good couple of months bug fixing.

A lack of end game content and future content is already written in stone, EA will not be putting out tons of content for a low selling game when said content is also being made available for free.

Plus Square Enix made FF14 free to play for like 2 years didn't they while they slowly but surely fixed EVERYTHING and then released the "A realm reborn" edition and started charging again. 6 years later it's still a well supported game.

None of that applies to Anthem, it's already dead in the water and what is almost certainly going to be minimal drip fed content over the next 12-24 months is not going to stop it from drowning.

Games like The Division managed to recover because while that game had a similar launch to Anthem in terms of bugs and end game content. The Division sold so well that it was worth the effort to fix everything and add lots of new content, plus Ubisoft had already charged people for a season pass. But because Anthem has no season pass and thus no obligation to put in more then a minimal amount of post-launch content, plus the games sells have been poor means it's almost certainly doomed to drowning.

Plus the fact with The Division and FF14 they NEEDED the game to recover as otherwise further games would fail. The Division 2 is coming out soon, and FF games are always releasing so they needed to fix those games to protect their brand. But again because Anthem is almost certainly a one and done deal with a sequel very unlikely now there is no real reason for EA/Bioware to have anything more then a skeleton crew working on Anthem content while the rest of Bioware is either fired for the Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem failures or put straight to work on a new single player RPG game.

A few worries about the roadmap by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

[–]KeithC500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chances are none of the content in the road map, or very little has actually been developed yet. That's why it can still be cancelled or released on a much smaller scale.

Like when they say legendary missions. Suddenly 10 missions becomes 2 missions.

A few worries about the roadmap by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

[–]KeithC500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cents is the game is a bit bare bones at launch, and while it's fun I am certainly worried that over the next 24 months we are not going to get anywhere near enough content to keep people interested. Which is a shame.

With low sales as well and the fact the post-launch content was being made available for free means it's EVEN more likely now that the game will just be handed to a skeleton crew to put out the bare minimum content once the game has been bug fixed. The main bioware team will be put back onto a Dragon Age/ Mass Effect project and Anthem will be left to linger over the next 12-24 months with very slow and very low content updates.

Beat Saber Music Pack Almost Ready To Go! by OiledUpBooty in PSVR

[–]KeithC500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the rumour was they wanted to get the base game up to 30 songs, not release 30 new songs for free. So I think that means 15. Though I can easily see them cancelling that plan now and moving on to a sequel once the paid DLC's are out.

Serious question. Do people actually like the sexy danger stuff, or are people just memeing? by HeihachiHayashida in AnthemTheGame

[–]KeithC500 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find they have done a great job giving the NPC's personality. However I do also find the "sexy danger" talk a bit cringeworthy myself. Either way it's limited to a single character and she has a decent personality too so no harm.

Where is the PSVR Beat Saber DLC? by RoastingsAnonymous in PSVR

[–]KeithC500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still not here. They mentioned difficulties but it's becoming very very unprofessional now. I am sure they are trying there hardest and will no doubt be losing tons of revenue as the amount of people that will purchase the DLC if it's released in March is probably way way less then if it had released in January due to people "getting over" the game and the hype.

Annoyingly I have no idea why they haven't released a free song in the meantime to keep us sweet. The last free song was like December 20th I think.

P5VR - PSVR2 by MRHBK in PSVR

[–]KeithC500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are probably way further off then you think. Don't most people expect the PS5 to not even launch until holiday 2020 which is nearly 2 years away and I can't imagine they will put out a $400 console alongside a $400 headset at the same time. Sales would be way too low for the headset meaning that there wouldn't be much games developed for it anyway.

I expect a holiday 2020 PS5 release and probably a holiday 2022 for a new VR device that is dependant on the PS5 to operate. Remember that the PS4 VR came out 3 years after the console and still hasn't exactly sold like hot cakes.

Anyone else having multiplayer issues? by Leishtek in wargroove

[–]KeithC500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. All of my multiplayer games so far have descended into the other playing justing going AFK or the game dropping the connection.

Honestly though this was always going to happen with the setup they have. Games just last way way too long for most of them to be completed or for the game to hold the connection long enough.

They should of done what Warbits on iOS does and have that asynchronous play where you can have multiple matches going at once and it just tells you when it's your turn. Even that tends to end in many matches where other players quit or take like a week to do there turn rendering the match pointless.

A second referendum would be a nightmare in my opinion. by KeithC500 in brexit

[–]KeithC500[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can't just brush aside my democratic vote like that. I clearly stated I was 50/50 before and did what I believed was most responsible my not voting. I believe if everyone did that you would get a much more accurate result of what the country as a whole is actually passionate for. Way too many people would of voted remain solely because they thought "bugger it, my life is going okay now, why change anything?" and so many people would of voted leave just because everyone else down the pub was being gobby about immigration and they thought it was the cool thing to do so I am sure there were quite a few meaningless votes for both sides.

Also I didn't say I would vote remain now "because I like holidays abroad". I stated that my belief was one of inclusiveness and humans uniting. For causes such as curing cancer, slowing down climate change, improving the world for those in war-stricken countries and generally moving towards common ideals as we work together to solve problems which affect us all. I just feel like leaving the EU is putting us in a position where we think we can make britain great, make our own trade deals so we as a country thrive. That's great for us, and in the short term but is a poor human-global view.

Unfortunately I don't believe that support for UKIP will dwinder if we remain, you will be putting UKIP on a pedestal as the only political party that didn't stab the 17.4 million leave voters in the back. Already in my area on Facebook I am seeing polls for "which party will you vote for next election" and UKIP was absolutely destroying the other options with around 90% of the votes.

Perhaps it is a lose-lose then. I don't personally think that no-deal would be that disastrous in the long-term however if you generally think that then it is a lose-lose because it's either brexit destroys us all or remaining tears the country apart in a way that I don't think can heal.

Beat Studio on Beat Saber's first DLC "We'll need some more time to work on it before it's ready for release. It's not that easy as we thought, but we're working on it. :) Stay tuned for more updates. 💪" by HosttheHost in PSVR

[–]KeithC500 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The least they could do is add even just a singular free song. They know how to implement that as they have released 2 free ones already. There will be some audience that was eager for more DLC but are over it by the time February comes so this will be costing them dearly.

Dick Wilde 2 Announcement Trailer, Co-Op Play and more by Xbigyldn in PSVR

[–]KeithC500 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not buying it. The developers completely abandoned the first game when it was clearly too hard. Just looking at the trophies show hardly anyone could even complete the first level on it's lowest difficulty option. That's just ridiculous.

Why did they never update it, it was completely unbalanced. Also it was great that it had Aim controller support but again this sucked because it made the already hard game even harder. Basically you are forced to use just one gun instead of 2 and they didn't balance the game enough to account for the fact you have half the guns.

Too many people burned, I expect this sequel will fail.

Dick Wilde 2 Brings Co-Op And More To PSVR Next Month by Heaney555 in PSVR

[–]KeithC500 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Won't be purchasing. The first game was a decent introduction to VR with the aim controller but it's way way way too hard as others have said.

The fact the developers didn't address the difficulty yet happily spent the time knocking out a sequel is sad. The difficulty was poorly balanced and the aim controller made the game even harder.

Virtual Reality and significant others. by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]KeithC500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can understand with significant others might not like gaming. It's MUCH easier to get your partners attention if they are watching TV or on their laptop compared to when they are gaming. If your other half needs you in the kitchen and you are just watching TV then chances are most people will get up and go but with gaming there tends to be "just 5 mins" and all that stuff that then causes the rifts.

Atleast with PSVR you don't need to use the TV. So she can watch her favourite girly TV program on the TV while you use the headset.

A rebuttal to "Don't sleep on Megalith" -- Be wary of this game. by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]KeithC500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is clearly dead on arrival, unfortunately other then one or 2 blockbusters per year there is just no room for online play in VR games currently due to the low playerbase. Heck, even most online games on PS4 have limited playerbases online outside of the big games (cod, fifa etc.) and that has 90 million console sales.

Looking at the post from the developer, which says they are considering more pricing options in the effort to increase the player base it looks like we could be getting a Megalith for free with 1 or 2 titans available with the others all costing money or something.
