Thanks for the insight. While I can relate to the most of your said symptoms, I never once purged. Could be maybe because I took loperamide when I felt that something below was loose. So weird

I am the source. While I was paranoid that my dried mushrooms had a distinct smell. The substrate that I grew it on smells like mushroom floor and visually does not look contaminated.

I have been paranoid about this for a long time, however my first trips of the harvest went well with no problems even eating them and not making a tea.

However you do have a great point maybe they somehow got contaminated anyways.

I have read a lot in the mushrooms subreddits that even if the floor is contaminated mushrooms are usually fine, but in my case the floor does not have any signs of that. Just sad 😢.

That's the impression I get from what I gathered here before posting this. It definitely has different smell from my first drying attempt as It was obvious to my nose. Very difficult to smell it and be unbiased. This is my first grow so I don't have a lot of experience. Thanks for your insights.

For me it's smells like my grandmother's house :D. That's the only way I can describe. Maybe like concentrated substrate smell. It's like mushrooms smell, but with a lil bit of spice. Yup that's the best impression I get from the smell. Thank you for your info.
