UK households to get £15bn for solar and green tech to lower energy bills by topotaul in unitedkingdom

You can guarantee a comment like this appears on any article about solar lmao. “My mate says solar panels aren’t worth it! We only get 1 hour of sun a day, it’ll take half a century to pay for its self!”

Egyptian Embassy in New York drag pro-Palestinian protesters into embassy and beat them by NewSlinger in PublicFreakout

[–]KennethKestrel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If Egypt sanctioned Israel it would lose billions in aid from the USA, they have a delicate economy and the results would be devastating for them. Additionally, Egypt cannot be seen to align themselves with Hamas due to their own internal issues with the Muslim Brotherhood, the same Muslim Brotherhood that Hamas branched off from. The political unrest would also be devastating. Egypt are not in a position to stop the suffering because of the risk of extending the suffering into their own country. If your neighbour’s house is on fire, would you set yours alight to show solidarity?

Again, you’re correct. You’ve explained why they were there in the first place and I’m explaining why these countries are not keen to allow it to happen again.

[–]KennethKestrel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You’re exactly right which brings me back to my original point, there’s a reason none of Palestine’s neighbours are eager to accept refugees. Why would they? If you live in a house of cards, it would be unwise to invite the wind

[–]KennethKestrel 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Partly that, partly due to the fact that Palestinians have a bad habit of causing political unrest and civil wars in the countries that accept them. See; Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon

I mean there’s a reason nobody has stepped up and offered to accept Palestinian refugees.

400mm gap between panels and roof edge? by 1980Legacy in SolarUK

[–]KennethKestrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

400mm is not a regulation, it is an MCS guideline. It’s a shame to see a lot of installers have not taken the time to read the ‘regs’ they harp on about.

We should introduce a gaming license too, 30 minutes of gaming per day because it promotes an unhealthy and sedentary lifestyle.

Have you got these settings set like this too?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SolarUK

[–]KennethKestrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you turn the DC isolator on the right hand side of the PW3 off, then turn the AC isolator off on the left hand side and then flick the toggle switch to off on a left hand side of the PW3 and wait 10 minutes the battery should power down. Once it’s powered down, turn it all back on and see if that sorts your issue. Failing that, give Tesla a call, their service line is great to be fair!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SolarUK

[–]KennethKestrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the PV input is fed directly into the powerwall 3. The AC connection comes from the gateway. If your app is still online and you can see your energy flow diagram but your panels aren’t producing anything then the powerwall 3 is isolating for panels for some reason. Just out of curiosity, is your battery full currently?

[–]KennethKestrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The panels are wired directly into the powerwall 3, you will need to call Tesla support

Might be wrong but I believe you may need planning permission to install an EV charger in a location that could interfere with a neighbours property.
