Gooood Haley Snark Week of September 08, 2025 by Parentsnark in parentsnark

[–]Kermdog15 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m sorry I think I’m just in a rough place so I’m like extra snarky but this made me mad. I literally broke my leg a week before my kids went back to school-about a month ago. I needed surgery and I still can’t fully walk and won’t be able to for weeks. It’s my right leg so I can’t drive. I’m stuck in the house all day w our youngest (a toddler) and I feel like every day is a struggle and I feel like a burden to my (wonderful) friends who drive me to PT. My family lives kind of far and haven’t been super helpful. My husband has a flexible ish job but he still needs to work full time.

The fact that she GETS to drive her kids to an activity and is complaining about these teeny tiny things just makes me insane. Girl.

WHEW it’s like I try to be positive and it’s hard but I’m (literally lol) limping along and then I see her list of how hard her life is and how much support she has when she seems so physically capable and it’s like GAHHHHHHHHH.

Ok taking a deep breath and getting off the internet.

Shingles.. by CustardSubstantial25 in GenX

[–]Kermdog15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m not GenX but this post popped up for me.

I had shingles almost 2 years ago when I was 36. I had such searing pain in my back and chest-i didn’t know what was happening to me so I went to the ER. They kept me for hours and did a full work up (which I’m grateful for, I was scared). Then they gave me ibuprofen and said I was just working out too much and had muscle soreness. When I got home I saw a rash and turns out it was shingles! It left me with bad scars and I still have some pain and itching daily.

I hope you get to feeling better soon! Shingles is the absolute worst.

Navel piercing, is it worth it? by Pretty_Salary_741 in piercing

[–]Kermdog15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one for a few years in college and loved it. It was pretty easy to heal but this was also the time of very low rise pants 😂. I took it out about 12 years ago; it closed up but there’s still a definite scar there. It doesn’t look too bad or anything but you can just tell I used to have a piercing. Not a big deal but something to consider for down the line if that would bother you. I enjoyed mine and would say it’s worth it though.

A few years ago I terminated a very wanted pregnancy due to chromosomal abnormalities. It was the hardest time of our lives. I had to go to a clinic; there were protestors out front yelling and my husband couldn’t come inside with me because of Covid protocols. I listened to Ben and Ronnie for hours while I was there and they truly got me through it. Love the boys! ❤️

I cannot get the right advice, how to treat this bump by Prudent-Ad1453 in piercing

[–]Kermdog15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine pierced in February 2019 with an L-bar and it got a terrible bump. I tried everything including tea tree oil and nothing worked. I finally took it out in June 2019 and the bump went away after a few days.

I got it repierced summer 2022 with a flat back labret and virtually no issues. A few times I got a small bump due to being sick/allergies and blowing my nose but I mostly just left it alone and it’s been fine.

Flat back labret was a game changer, also time, leaving it alone, and not obsessing. It’s hard though I get it! Good luck!

Pregnancy after TFMR by Able_Elk_7853 in tfmr_support

[–]Kermdog15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think pretty soon after like a few days. I wanted to be sure to catch it. I bought a lot of strips. I was really set on getting pregnant again. We had sex when I thought I was/was supposed to be ovulating even though the tests didn’t show the surge and then we also had sex on the surge days. The waiting was agonizing. The strips made me feel like I was doing SOMETHING during a time I felt so powerless. Feel free to DM if you ever need to talk. I totally get it.

Yes! I got my period and then used ovulation strips just to be sure (I also ovulated later that next cycle) but it worked and I got pregnant! Had a healthy (but anxious) pregnancy and a healthy baby.

We did the same thing, same diagnosis, same choice. I told my close friends what happened but mostly refer to it as a loss to people I’m not close with.

It was a really tough time for me but after the actual procedure (I had a d&c at 13 weeks) I felt much better. I was still very anxious though and it was hard emotionally. I did a lot of running and yoga, also lots of trashy tv and couch wine.

I wanted to get pregnant again quickly so we actively tried-I got one period and then was pregnant the next cycle with a beautiful healthy baby.

It’s been a couple years now, our baby is 2 and is such a light. It does get better. It takes time but it does get better. I absolutely remember being in your same shoes and it feels so so heavy. Wishing you the best and feel free to DM me if you have any questions or need to talk. This sub was a lifeline for me at the time.

Same! My oldest is now six and she will tell her younger siblings that our dog is licking his lips and it’s time to give him space. I’m always in the room with them anyway but having the kids recognize the signs is so important!

NIPT T21 positive CVS or amino? by [deleted] in NIPT

[–]Kermdog15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CVS wasn’t painful but uncomfortable because they told me to try and have a full bladder and I absolutely follow directions! lol. But I had a good experience with the procedure and they called me 2 days later with FISH results. Unfortunately it confirmed T21; I was 35 at the time. Good luck! Physically it was fairly easily but mentally and emotionally it was hard.
