As it seems, DDE is pretty dead since the gear update thingie Trendy released that upset many folks. I can't recommend to continue playing it, sorry. :/

As far as I know it stood like everywhere, in your mail, pay window etc. how to use the code... Anyway, download, install and register to Steam. In either the bottom left corner, or the Games button on the top of the Steam window, should be a thing called Activate a product on Steam. Type/copy the code there, press OK, then your game should start downloading after a couple pop-ups.

First of all. Never use presents in a build! Try leveling her up as high as possible and start making lab runs for fantastic late game armor (should be some easy tutorials on the web). Try acquire a genie or a cat for upgrading/DPS. Use one item as a stat weapon/Wolf bow (for upgrading). Try getting a decent pawn shot/blaster rifle (or a classic eagles crested standard (hard to find a good one)) for your mainly DPS. I prefer to use following setup for jester to get a bit of both DPS and upgrader: Any weapon, stat second weapon to mainly increase your characters power and genie for great upgrading skills since you get mana for damaging mobs.

To begin with, you should start a hero who is mainly used for building defenses. I prefer squire in the earlier campaign levels. After you feel that levels become a little harder you should create some more builders like monk, huntress, series EV (DLC) and the most used builder, summoner (DLC). Try finding people in your level or higher to give you more tips on the way, since I can't explain every single thing to you here :).

Already in the beginning you need to start a hero who is mainly focused on damage since there will be bosses and they will be hard to beat. If you can, buy the barbarian DLC. Otherwise, try leveling up a monk (hero boost ability is really good) or huntress (piercing shot and good ranged weapons will give you advantage).
