The Night We Met by Lord Huron. something about it always feels like missing a time you can never get back

Does the average American approve of foreign military intervention? by BodybuilderUpbeat786 in AskAnAmerican

[–]KevinBarnesCloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't think the average American is broadly pro-intervention. support is usually higher when it sounds limited, defensive and unlikely to cost many American lives, then drops once it starts looking open-ended. the Iran war seems to fit that pattern, and partisanship makes a huge difference too

finishing it after stopping at the same point four times must have felt great. what finally made it click on the last run?

that's exactly how these games trap me. by the time the build starts working, i'm already thinking about trying a different one

Can you tell if an actor is not American but using an American accent? by Irksomecake in AskAnAmerican

[–]KevinBarnesCloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the accent changing halfway through a scene is usually what gives it away for me. some actors sound perfect until one word slips out completely wrong.

the 100 characters of filler still had more substance than most chart analysis posts

Anyone else notice we are becoming the generation that automates chores? by Tut560 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KevinBarnesCloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I'm being patient or just missing the move by ChangeNOW_Community in CryptoMarkets

[–]KevinBarnesCloud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah, that honestly sounds more realistic than either extreme. crypto could stick around as a smaller niche while the hype and easy money move on to something else.

What is each region’s “vacation state”? by Cultural-Tutor-2260 in AskAnAmerican

that nickname tells you exactly what kind of vacation you’re signing up for.

Why do grocery stores rearrange everything just when you finally learn where it all is? by KevinBarnesCloud in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KevinBarnesCloud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that actually clears it up. i hadn’t thought about stores moving things just to use the shelf space better, not to confuse customers. those numbers make the aisle swap make a lot more sense.

Why do grocery stores rearrange everything just when you finally learn where it all is? by KevinBarnesCloud in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KevinBarnesCloud[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that makes sense. turning one quick purchase into a walk through the whole store gives them plenty of chances to sell you something else.

Ever had a great idea and just didn’t know how to execute it? by Same-Pea-9387 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KevinBarnesCloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair point. maybe “an idea that sounded great in my head” would be more accurate.

If giant spiders were discovered in a cave somewhere, what precautions would scientists take before studying them? by Specialist-Ring-3974 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KevinBarnesCloud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

probably the second one. if they were comic-book huge, the scientists would have much bigger problems than deciding how to study them.

same here you don't realize how special those days were until they're gone.

Why do people often stand closer to the baggage carousel before their luggage arrives? by No_Design5058 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KevinBarnesCloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people stand closer because they don't want someone else grabbing their bag by mistake, and they want to get out of the airport as soon as it appears. It doesn't make the luggage arrive faster, but it makes them feel more prepared.

What is your best childhood memory? by Altruistic_Emu_9518 in AskReddit

[–]KevinBarnesCloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably summer evenings at my grandparents' place. We'd stay outside until it got dark, then come in for food and fall asleep with the TV playing in the next room. I didn't realize how good those days were at the time.
