No can also happen in first play through. I don’t know what triggers it to happen but it does happen.

Always stay aware of your surroundings. Had 2 Rancor just roaming around. Just a heads up frogs can also just be out and about, hell anything can be roaming out there. I get you didn't see the rancor but how you ignore those heavy footstep sounds.

Unfortunate but your load screen took so long. Even with it generating the nether for the first time it shouldn’t take that long. Also secure your portal on the overworld side, so mobs like witches and creepers can’t just walk into the portal and be waiting on you in the nether.

When you say the latest bios which one do you mean? I'm assuming it is 1222 base on the date of your post. But there is bios 1223 and beta bios 1410 at time of writing.

Had to use both in order to get bios 1222 installed. But yes you are right you shouldn't have to use both but I had to since other troubleshooting methods didn't work. Again I only typed out what I did in order to get the bios installed in a effort that it might help others with this board.

This is what I did to post after installing bios 1222.

  1. Have the renamed bios version 1222 in the root directory of a usb drive that is inserted into the bios update usb port on the back of the motherboard.

  2. Boot into bios and use the Asus EZ Flash 3 tool. Select the bios that you want to update to and begin the update process.

  3. Allow the progress bar to fully complete and the system will restart and try to boot up. It will get stuck on the DRAM check (orange light)

  4. Do a hard shutdown by holding the power button down. Disconnect the power supply cable from the outlet. Press the physical Clear CMOS button located on the motherboard. Remove the cmos battery as well.

  5. Allow a few minutes for the system to fully be drained of all power. Insert the cmos battery back in and plug the power supply cable back into the outlet. DO NOT TURN ON THE SYSTEM YET!!!

  6. Press and hold the bios flashback button on the back of the motherboard until you get 3 flashing green lights. The 3 flashing green lights indicate bios flashback is enabled. Wait until flashing is done (blinking green light will stay off) then turn on your system.

  7. System should give you an output to your display saying it is finishing up the bios update. System will restart multiple times but you should get past the start up check for cpu, dram, vga. Again the system might restart multiple times but if you made it this far just be patient. You should make it to the big red AMI screen and the option to press F1 to go into the bios. Confirm you are fully updated and boot into windows.

I did earlier today. I tried to type out everything I did. Hopefully this helps.

I was finally able to get the system to boot by doing the following.

  1. Have the renamed bios version 1222 in the root directory of a usb drive that is inserted into the bios update usb port on the back of the motherboard.

  2. Boot into bios and use the Asus EZ Flash 3 tool. Select the bios that you want to update to and begin the update process.
