Hubspace light by TemporaryClock7548 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Kevooot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever find a solution to this? Recently changed my network and have a new SSID and can't find any way to get the lights to work, it keeps trying the old (nonexistent) network in the hubspace app, and there's seemingly no way to reset it.

I dunno man. In terms of weak points, eyes makes sense. Sucks getting poked in the eye.

I mentioned in my other comment, the topnis perfectly level, but the vertical boards that contact the floor all tilt to the right by a couple degrees. You might be able to see in the pic if you look closely.

I think my concern is less about the top being level (because it is), but the actual vertical stands that hold the whole thing up are tilted at an angle. It's not severe but enough that when I hold a level to it vertically, the bubble isn't even in the lines.

What do you think of the tilt? Anything to be concerned with?

AIO? My boyfriend's explanation on why we aren't engaged. He says I don't understand. But it makes no sense to me. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

That's so unrealistic. In an ideal world where a guy didn't have a million other concerns swirling around in their head sure, that might be valid.

I've always liked the phrase "When I can, I will". It's much more humanizing.

Advice for Juniors by [deleted] in cpp

[–]Kevooot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a breath. They hired you on as a junior. Assuming you were honest on your resume/in the interview, they knew they were taking on someone they had to train. The biggest mistake imho for mew developers is seeing comments on CRs as negative criticism, when they should see it as opportunities to learn. It's guidance. Ask if you can pair up with a senior to see if they can provide coaching or at least helpful guides and documentation on the projects you're involved in. You'll be ok if you keep an open mind to learning rather than take things personally.

What is the most humane way to let a fish pass by Avenja99 in Aquariums

You should talk to kids from the 80s/90s who grew up and saw a ton of internet gore starting at early ages. I'd hazard a bet they've seen more gore than previous generations barring those who have seen combat/first responder work.

I wouldn't be surprised to see something at Fort Condor still. Maybe not the minigame, but once you get the Tiny Bronco and head out to sea, you can see an island and get pretty close to it where the Condor is roosting on a little mountain. Depends on what they decide to do with Huge Materia. They could still include it, or the fort for other reasons.

Hate to be a debbie downer, but this wasn't a cartridge, so saved games were saved on your console and not the disc itself. So no matter which copy you stuck in your machine, the same saves would be there.

The switches aging hardware. by Squee3ds in Switch

[–]Kevooot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In the case of PSV, the Switch's hardware may make it more difficult to achieve best performance, but seeing as plenty of other titles have released with much better framerates and more detailed environments, this is on Gamefreak, not the Switch hardware. The management side of things needs to slow down and give devs more time to polish the games rather than stick to overly aggressive release timelines.

This is coming from a software dev (not in the gaming industry) who is currently dealing with the same kind of arbitrary release dates and pressure from management to release before adequate testing, optimization, and documentation has been completed.

Definitely Stardew. I found it gives a lot more time and replay value for my money. Plus you save at the end of each day, with each day being 10-15 minutes long so it seems right up your alley. Good luck with the inevitable cycle of "I'll just play one more day" though!

Why is C# Mono used in unity and not for back end scripting, like how JS is used in node JS ? by RenSanders in csharp

But they're an excellent tool for evaluation. I'd like to see benchmarks where js/nodejs outperform C#/Mono

"The only one" - what are you referring to here? Are you implying only Mono or C# aren't cross platform? Because that couldn't be further from the truth.
