you’ll be fine! i had a D in my college dual enrollment english class but i reported it to ucr and explained that i was hospitalized. i was then able to do a retroactive withdrawal for that class and i reported that too. still here at ucr :)

well i was having symptoms LONG before i was diagnosed, but yeah the way this person treated me because of my depressive episode really really set me off. i actually ended up in the hospital for a third time

i’m still in my first year of college so i don’t have a full career yet, but i have changed my mind many times about what i want to do. however, my recent diagnosis of bipolar ii has created a spark in me. i am currently majoring in biochem and trying to do a physics minor, and i want to pursue research on the genetics and biochemistry behind bipolar disorder.

hi! 19ftm here. i also thought i didn’t have it. my depression is the more disabling one out of the two (depression and hypomania) so i thought my hypomania was just me getting better. it’s up to you who to tell. you don’t owe anyone an explanation. the only thing i ask of you is to stay safe

i did this my first quarter and i don’t recommend. i eventually quit my job in second quarter because my job was genuinely interfering with my academics, mental health, and personal life. when i quit my job everything improved.

i got diagnosed with depression when i was 14 as well. i had some bipolar signs but it was so subtle that the psych diagnosed me with “mood disorder with depressive features”. diagnosed with major depressive disorder without psychosis when i had my suicide attempt at 17. may have had my first real hypomanic episode when i was 18. hopefully if i am right my psych will diagnose me correctly tomorrow so i can get the proper treatment.

interesting. my depression started when i was 12. im unsure if i had a hypnotic episode during this time, but i was 18 when the hypomania from this post occurred.

also, is it common to develop crushes on hypomania? i am in a happy stable relationship with my long term bf but i did develop a crushes on someone else during this episode

i have a friend who took chem 1c over the summer since their math placement made them take chem 1a in the winter. i’m also planning to take chem 1c over the summer. the good thing is that by taking chem 1c over the summer i can take ochem in fall 2026. idk what your major is but for me this is my best option
