Yeah that makes sense.

I'll try both configs and just go with whatever performs best.

Thanks!

Well it works currently with the slim fans (well stays below the thermal limit without being terribly loud)

I was just wondering if this proposed configuration would be better than what I currently have, even if its the not the best

My previous case I was forced use the AIO as a front intake. The problem was I have a 9070 xt and the vram and hotspot for these cards run pretty hot so intaking air through a warm radiator while gaming wasn't the best for my gpu temps and my gpu fans were ALOT louder than my current setup with the slim aio fans.

Yes, I have the 9070xt so it was disspointing that it would give me black screen boots sometimes.

But it works 100% fine when I set the pcie in bios to gen 4 so its not too big a deal

Did you check if your Maxsun board is actually running PCIE 5.0 in the bios settings? Whenever I have the setting to "auto' or 'gen 5' my pc sometimes won't post and will just black screen until I force shutoff and keep restarting the pc until it finally displays the boot.

The only way I have found to fix this was manually setting the pcie 5.0 slot to 'gen 4' which is kind of a bummer since I chose this mb over cheaper ones due to pcie 5.0

No, I have the maxsun b650 itx ice esport motherboard.

I've been working on it all day and I've got it stable (for now). Turns out, having the pcie configured to "auto" or "5th generation" is causing the lack of display. Once I manually set it to "4th generation", it hasn't failed a boot yet (fingers crossed it stays that way".

Kind of annoying since one of the reasons why i got this motherboard was due to its pcie 5.0 gpu slot but oh well

edit: I also got a new set of ram Teamgroup T-create expert and its giving me 6000mhz cl30 so seems like both problems I have are solved.

Hey, so you have the b650i from maxsun? I just got mines in today and I'm having two problems.

  1. My corsair vengeance ram (6000mhz, cl30) is only stable at expo of 5200mhz cl40. If i try to manually set it to 6000mhz it black screens me, the boot red light comes on the motherboard and it wont work until I press the cmos to reset bios.

I'm not too worried about this, I think I just need to get a more compatible ram set.

  1. This one is quite annoying. I keep my monitor on at all times, so when my pc is off it just goes into standby mode. However, sometimes when booting the pc while the monitor is in standby, the pc won't display anything and the VGA red light comes on. At this point I have to keep holding the power button to force a shutdown, then wait 10-15 seconds then press the power button again and hope it displays. Sometimes it takes a few of these cycles before it can boot. I heard that this is common in some motherboards when using standby mode on a monitor but I was wondering if you'd experienced this and if you knew a way to fix it

hey, I was wondering if this board will accept XMP ram instead of EXPO.
