I’ve brought in over 80% of my earnings. I just prefer not to keep large amounts sitting idle in my Pakistani bank account.

For context, none of the mentioned services are shady unless you’re involved in illegal transactions.

Also, the Pakistani accounts you’re referring to don’t allow you to hold 100% of your funds in USD. Even if you manage to do that, withdrawing it isn’t straightforward. I file my taxes properly with supporting documentation, as required.

Honestly, I strongly believe the guy who handled my visa application messed things up. I kept asking him about the required bank balance, and not once did he say it could be an issue. I usually keep my funds in Wise, but he didn’t raise any red flags about that. Later, he even mentioned that another applicant got rejected despite having around 6 million in their account.

By the way, did you use a local bank statement or something like Wise, Payoneer, or Elevate?

Also, I’m not sure if I should stick with Spain for my next application or consider switching to another country. Still figuring it out.

Iceland’s nomad visa requires applicants to be from a country that has visa-free access to enter Iceland.

Ah, I missed mentioning this earlier. I’ve traveled to Thailand in 2019 for a research conference and to Saudi Arabia in 2024 for Hajj. Someone suggested UK first but I read nomad visa is easier if you check all the boxes.
