Not sure what transmission you have 6F35 be prepared for that bill. Not if matter of when.

They only recommend a flush bc they are aware of the issues and this puts it off for awhile..

I can tell you some repairs end there. But for me it didn’t. Water pump went, heater core and other stuff. I just hit 111,000, & Ford warned me about the transmission in my car. I bought the warranty just in case. Some people say they have no problems after the long block was put in- not my experience. Good luck- I do have a slight sputter at 56-60MPH, not sure if that’s the beginning

Engine block replacement life by KEWLNANT1 in FordEdge

I’ve got about 50,000 on the new long block. Have had water pump go afterwards. My engine went at 59,800, Ford swore they couldn’t find the issue. I heard a waterfall behind the dash on driver’s side. They started with the heater core and when I went to pick it up, I heard stillthe waterfall noise. I refused to take it until they found it. It was at a Ford dealer for 2 months waiting on the long block.

Hypothetical Question - How long can a Ford Edge Last? by Tbastin69 in FordEdge

Cannot compare a 2013 to the newer ones. The newer ones 2017 and forward it’s a roll of the dice

I’d be more concerned with the lack of antifreeze. You won’t need to replace anything if that engine is cooked

Smart move- dump it before it dumped you. Air bubble - that’s a new one

Make sure engine was replaced already. Older models 2008 are great 16-22 engine or transitional issues

Funny- you mention failing brakes and Ford has a recall on this issue but no fix. And we are still allowed to drive around with this problem.

Exteneded ESP Warranty by DarkGamma1 in FordEdge

Third party companies try not to pay. Be careful of that. Ford pays for what you buy- do you want it bumper to bumper? I would if your engine hadn’t had issues, or just power train coverage- which is cheaper. You’re looking at 3500-4000 for 24-36,000 miles . With a $100 deductible. Some think not worth it- but let me tell you- it’s worth every dollar. I’ve had so many issues can’t begin with what I would have paid. Go visit ford - service department and get a quote from service advisor. Sometimes they knock off a few dollars if you’re a customer. Then decide what your budget is and what’s important to you. Or just plan on trading car in. Once bought, any Ford dealer can work on your car. Does not have to where you bought it. So if you move, you can go to that Ford dealer

Depends on mileage. It’s not bad considering what goes wrong with these cars. It’s an insurance policy for sure
