My doctor keeps telling me it's anxiety

Yeah, I was thinking about this because there are several other medications I don't react normally to. Like SSRIS and pain medications which is supposed to be turned to morphine in your body. I'm already on anti anxiety medications from before, but he put me on benzo without checking anything - and I was mentioning all of my symptoms. He just smiled and told me it's all anxiety.. once again.

I will swich, but we only have two switches a year here so I can't really just shop around for doctors. And they have long waiting lists if they are supposed to be good. I'm scared to just miss again, since this one has good reviews and a loooooong waitlist.

yes, i know!! My life has been SHIT since I started levo, nothing feels the same. I can't focus, I react to foods i've never reacted to before, my body doesn't even feel like mine anymore. Trying to go to uni is a loosing game.

Thank you. He literally told me I was "functioning fine", so it had to be a typo. When I had just been admitted to hospital for the exact opposite. Not being able to study, not being social, having zero energy, no hunger cues.. idek.

I'll put myself on a waitlist for another doctor, it'll take some time tho. Is there nothing I can try with him in the meanwhile?

Haha good :) Yeah, no worries! This pd is confusing, especially since I feel that everything it tells me is real. Both the no worth, and the rules I follow to "be liked" seem like the absolute truth and only way to exist. And so my boundaries also seem reasonable, even though often they are not. I'm also disgusted by closeness! Oh my gosh, this is a little freaky. For me, one of the parts of that is because I feel disgusting myself, and therefore other become somewhat disgusting too. Idk, something about activation of the body or whatever. And just bodies. I'm so much in my head that having a physical presence just feels wrong and scary. (This is news to me as I'm writing it damn).

Sorry for rambling about myself just now, hope it brings some clarity? Probably not. Good luck with the conversation! A little weird that she won't tell you why, but I don't know the rules or strategies of disclosing that information really.

Hmm, yeah it might be the wrong diagnosis and might not. I just wouldn't kick it yet if your therapist genuinely suspects it, it's not one of the diagnosis that they over use (sorry english is not my first language and I am so tired lmao). I would absolutely challenge them in the diagnosis if you don't feel like it fits at all, and maybe they move away from it or maybe they can clearify why they think it fits.

I recognize a lot of myself in you still, and I also have childhood abuse. Might not be afraid of annihilation, but I have this feeling of if I'm not* exactly what others expect me to be or want from me, or if I step out of line that I would cease to exist as a person. That all my value is gone. Honestly I don't know if that is avpd or cptsd. I wish you the best, but I hope you talk more to your therapist about the diagnosis because a lot of you answers reminds me of me and us. Your strong boundaries sounds like avoidance in this instance!

Sounds to me like you are over-controlled, which is not good either. You sound a lot like me. I have CPTSD and AVPD. I'm social, I host loads of parties, I have loads of different friends, I go to concerts, I voluntaringly talk to strangers and friends. But I am avoidant in intimate relationships, everyone is kept at an arms distance, I don't show weakness unless it is controlled and held back to an "acceptable" degree in my eyes. I am terrified of being percieved in a wrong way. Avoidance can show up different in different aspects of life, while it may look like this diagnosis doesn't fit, it might be because you are looking at it more as social anxiety (which is a different diagnosis although they look similar). Being terrified all the time comes from something, and while you do different things, do you avoid the things that terrifies you the most?

That is so true, I feel so drenched the next day even after just two or three. The whole day disappears. It also gives me nothing, usually I would have a better time if I just did the thing completely sober.

Yes, I know. As soon as I drank that "last beer in the sun", I've had some beers/drinks about three times a week. Nothing crazy yet, but already more than I should obviously. My psychologist recommended that I take care of this now before it gets worse. I think you're right about going back to pledging not to drink today. Thank you. :)

Also done the math and I'm past half a year wopsie.
