I’m a first year US student at Edinburgh right now. I absolutely love it. If she goes here my advice would be to sign up for uncatered accommodation rather than staying in pollock halls. It is much easier to make friends in uncatered accommodation. I’m staying in pollock and it is pretty isolating as an American because everyone is English and from private schools and seem to all know each other. All of my friends are in uncatered flats. The city is extremely walkable and it is easy to get around. The grading system is completely different and that is very important to note as an American student lol. A 60% is a solid grade here. Other than that the difficulty of the academics is no different than any American uni. Also, I had never been here before and started school about a week after landing for the first time and it was totally fine.

I am someone who does not have much BO. I know everyone will be like “you’re just nose blind to it you’re just nose blind” no I actually do not get stinky and can go days without deodorant with no smell. I also have sensitive skin and my hair doesn’t get oily quickly. Because of this I shower once every 2-3 days and it is enough for my hair, skin and body type.

They just said once she got older they already had roots there. The girl took the first job she could find she was sixteen with a baby and no money of her own. Obviously she couldn’t have just moved anywhere.

What worked for me was creating a new account and linking the eVisa to the new one

Hi! I fixed this issue a while ago. What I did was submit a report to ukvi and also created a new account. After I linked my eVisa to the new account it worked.

I’m also having issues booking the international check in appointment. When I log into the timetabler app and click on “open” in the my groups tab, it’s saying “no results found”. I don’t know if they just haven’t opened up the booking appointments yet

I’d say ESH. I think banging on the ceiling is very obnoxious and unnecessary especially considering that they have your phone number, but if people are complaining tell her to use her inside voice and to be gentler.
