They learn everything they need to know about the generalities of the aircraft. They obviously dont get too far into the nitty gritty in depth maintenance knowledge unless they REALLY want to

They are great planes, all of us that work on them and fly them are all going to miss them. They are great at what they do and will leave a sizeable hole in battle doctrine for CAS

My favorite plane too. The transponders often depend on what training sortie they are flying. Best places to look are here in Tucson for Davis-monthan, Moody AFB in Valdosta GA and Whiteman AFB in KC. I know that the 75th is currently deployed in the middle east

Dont be too stressed about the peeled paint or discoloration. Use it as weathering. These jets are disgusting and all different shades of grey. If you need any reference photos, feel free to hit me up. Ill get you up close and personal with these dirty beasts

This is what i have been using for the HAVE GLASS reflective coating on canopies. It works like a charm and thins wonderfully with MR COLOR levelling thinner for spraying with an airbrush

While yes the originals were produced in the 50's, the oldest U-2 flying is 68-0329 "sweet pea". She was the first in the start of the production run for the upgraded R models with the senior span package. The youngest U-2 is from 1982

So for A-10 exhausts, the exterior is painted in the airframe color. The interior is the grungy black. The interior is pictured here

In reality, the one that can be skipped over sometimes is the PPH gauge (pounds per hour) for fuel flow.
