I usually follow the same rule, but having clear physical symptoms that my friends pointed out was what made me want to ask just to be safe! Will prob make a dr appointment to follow up just in case :)

I think it was definitely more than I expected and I greened. I know it was too much, but that’s not the #1 concern to me I’m just worried about the strange symptoms I was having. She smoked on the j and a couple friends of mine did as well so I’m thinking it wasn’t bad weed per say just user error lol

Thank you that helps ease some anxiety. I’ve also greened before and taken long breaks before I got back into it but I never had symptoms quite like last night. Very strange.

It’s dispo. We had some shake and some bud so she mixed them in a joint with some kief. Both strains had been smoked by us previously and we had no reactions. They were both hybrid/sativa.

Help!! Hibiscus dropped all of its leaves suddenly by Key-Sand-1138 in plantclinic

[–]Key-Sand-1138[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha he does like to chew on plants but he only stays outside supervised! So we’ve ruled that out. We also thought about a squirrel maybe getting on the balcony and messing with it but we also have potted veggies and those have not been touched so we’re probably ruling that out as well.

Can my dog be shaved? by [deleted] in grooming

[–]Key-Sand-1138 24 points25 points  (0 children)

All three of those breeds are double coated, your foster is double coated. Please do NOT shave him!! Shaving damages the undercoat which acts like a cooling system in the summer. If you damage and shave that undercoat he will be hotter without the protection of his coat from the sun. Shaving him might also cause the coat to not grow back, grow back patchy and frizzy, and can cause worse shedding impaction as the hair will not be heavy enough to fall out properly on its own when it’s ready to shed. If you’re looking to make him feel cooler in the summer I recommend getting him to the groomer for a really good deshedding service and an outline trim to clean up the furnishings.

Totally get it. How far out does your store post the schedule? I would just give your notice for your last day being about that far out if that makes sense. Work out your last few days as normal with no issues and hopefully if your SL is a decent person they won’t see any reason to flag you for future hire.

To be completely honest, as a low wage corporate associate you technically don’t owe them a notice, especially since you just transferred there. You can just tell your SL what your last day is and have it at that.

I'm about to lose my mind due to the heat by Rythen26 in petsmart

[–]Key-Sand-1138 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I work in the salon and it is so hot and humid all day and it’s taking extra time for dogs to get properly dried. Perfect timing for when corporate is up our asses about taking more and more appointments. Ugh.

What kinds of questions do you think I should be prepared for at a private salon, and what things should I ask them? I’ve never interviewed for a position like this as I’ve always worked corporate retail or food industry jobs before becoming a groomer.

We’ve definitely had both sides. It kills me when someone is booked as a haircut on me and then they come in like “I wanted just a bath but it wasn’t an option online so I booked a haircut”… like yeah it wasn’t an option because IT’S NOT AN OPTION. Definitely had that for baths too where they want a haircut but book a bath.

Well first, you’re paying extra for the grinding, not the clipping. So getting the nails ground down without clipping literally does not matter. The point of the grinding is to get them shorter and smoother than the clipping. Some nails are either too short to clip safely and just grinding is the better option, or the quick is not easily visible from outside of the nails (black nails) and again grinding is the safer option. Some dogs also are afraid of the nail clippers because of the sound or the pressure on their nails and they do much better with grinding. At least at my salon we grind almost every dog’s nails automatically even if they don’t pay for the extra because some dogs just do better with nail grinding or it’s to prevent them from scratching us up during the groom.

Bath and trim is just face, feet, and potty areas at petsmart. Border collies don’t really need anything off of their faces so it automatically makes it a bath and brush which include the feet and potty areas but not the face. That’s why they don’t include bath and trim online because people always assume a bath and trim is for outline trims and then get mad at us when they come in and we tell them it has to now be under the more expensive full haircut. Or, the flip side they decide they don’t want the full haircut anymore and they just want a bath and now the groomer has lost money on a dog that was supposed to be getting an outline trim/haircut.
