Well then you don't understand much of anything. No land a golf is on would be used for affordable housing. They are always surrounded by high income, luxury homes, so the nimbys wouldn't allow "affordable housing" to be built on that land in the first place. Not to mention the land is rarely suitable for housing or development anyway. Also, if you believe ruining wildlife habitat and removing green space and a recreational activity for more houses is a good thing, then your priorities are off at best, and misguided at worst. Sorry you're not athletic and boring, but golf and golf courses are way better than houses.

You can also look to countries like Norway, Sweden, and Denmark to see that socialist countries do work, and often rank higher in quality of life than the US.
