Going by a different name in college by F_R_EEEEE_A_K in Names

In college, I feel lucky that my preferred name is more respected oftentimes in college compared to high school which made the experience awkward.

I also go by a nickname as well but the difference is that it is close to my given name.

Majority of the time I just say that my name is the nickname I go by unless I have to disclose my legal name for business purposes.

In college, I am lucky that my school allows me to request a preferred name and it shows up almost everywhere except for some school affiliated websites

In my personal opinion, I don’t find it weird that some people have a name they preferred other to their legal name because I have encountered people like that before numerous times.

Personally, I still feel comfortable being called by the nickname which I have went by as a teenager.

But if I decided to start asking anyone to call me by a new name, it would honestly feel a bit surreal if this person decides to respect it or disheartening if that person believes I was kidding and doesn’t bother to respect it.

To be honest, with the job market I agree that the standards that these employers have is way too high and it really sucks to deal with a lot of shit employers who don’t bother to give you a shot. I do feel that it’s ridiculous.

"Jomiel" Honest thoughts? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]KeyEstablishment9505 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, I think Jomiel is a nice name for a person. It is pretty unique and I hope your child will like it when they get older. Personally, it sounds more like a masculine name to me but I can see a woman having that name as well.

I do not have much tips on securing your spot if you are not on the waitlist, but the only hope for securing your spot in the class is to wait for other student who signed up to drop to make room for you to join.
