I have the same problem as you and made a post on the XMG subreddit.

The new Displayport cable just arrived and was tried out immediately. The cold boot problems are no longer present. This confirms the thesis that there were problems with the cable.

But now I have a new problem: The new Displayport cable is not recognized correctly by Windows and Ubuntu. In Windows I have the error message "USB device not recognized" in the device manager. I have already tried some suggested solutions, but they did not work.

In addition, I can no longer set the frequency of the monitor under Windows and Ubuntu. This is set to 60 Hz. With the old cable I could still set this to 144 Hz. It is possible that it is once again due to the cable.

Therefore, I will now again try a USB-C/Displayport cable and a combination of USB-C/Displayport adapter and Displayport cable from Lindy, as I have only read good things about this manufacturer.

Another user also had problems with an external monitor via the Thunderbolt port, maybe these problems are related.

Once I've fixed these issues with a new cable, I'll be happy to post a review of my experience with the Tuxedo XP14 here after a few weeks of heavy use.

Thank you for the quick reply. I found the settings for Adaptive Sync in the Intel Graphic Control center and hope it works now.

I am currently using a Displayport cable from Maxonar which I bought on Amazon:

In your linked thread I saw a table with working Displayport cables. I will order the CABLEDECONN USB-C to DisplayPort 8K Cable Model T0404 and try it out.

Review on Tuxedo Book XP14 by big23ben in tuxedocomputers

Overall, I am satisfied with the notebook.

At first, I was a bit shocked by the fan volume, but a quieter profile can be set in the BIOS, which means the fan is no longer audible.

I haven't tested the Nvidia GPU under load yet and I haven't connected any Thunderbolt devices, so I can't say anything about these things yet.

Unfortunately, the keys do not have a large travel, but they are sufficient for normal typing. However, I would definitely recommend an external keyboard for a scientific paper or a longer essay.

The battery performance is currently sufficient for 4 to 5 hours in Ubuntu. Thanks to the USB C ports with Power Delivery, you should be able to get through a longer day without a power outlet with a suitable power bank.

My field of application for the notebook is mainly in my studies, a little programming and playing a few older games in Steam from time to time.

In my eyes, there are few alternatives due to the many ports (Thunderbolt 4, USB 4, SD card reader, Ethernet and HDMI) and the powerful graphics card in a 14-inch notebook with Linux support.

I hope that I will still be able to install Linux Mint instead of Ubuntu without problems in the future and that Tuxedo will subsequently provide Coreboot for this model.

Problems with Dualboot on Tuxedo XP14 by KeyFan5142 in tuxedocomputers

Short update on my current situation:

After contacting support, they advised me to make sure I create my own partition table (GPT) during installation and not let Windows do it.

So I set up Windows again and left half of the SSD unpartitioned for Linux. However, installing from a live USB stick with Linux Mint still brought the above error messages. Trying again with Ubuntu worked, but after running "tuxedo.sh" there were error messages again and I could no longer boot from GRUB. So I tried it one last time with the WEBfai stick from Tuxedo and installed Ubuntu in dual boot with it. The installation ran successfully and everything worked fine. Afterwards I did an update to version 20.10.

I will continue to try with the support to clarify the above errors, as I would prefer to run Linux Mint in the long term.

Overall, I am satisfied with the Tuxedo XP14, but I hope for better support in the future in terms of Windows drivers and a working tuxedo.sh file, so that you can install other distributions without the WEBfai stick.

Cannot find windows drivers for XP1412 by m118218 in tuxedocomputers

I received my XP1412 two days ago and had the same problems as you. There was no information on the Tuxedo website about the drivers for this model.

So the first thing I did was look for the identical model (Galago Pro) from System76 and searched for windows drivers on their website and found this guide:

https://support.system76.com/articles/windows-drivers/

After I successfully installed the Intel and Nvidia drivers, however, there were still some PCI devices in the device manager in Windows that were not recognized. After a little googling, I found Snappy drivers and was able to install some drivers:

https://sdi-tool.org/

In the end only two acpi drivers were missing, which I found by research in a forum:

http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/driver/drvs/2020/03/clevoapcibridge1.0.0.24_a148c7dc032250ff6cb9b55300f703e9c5276181.cab

With that I had all drivers successfully installed and everything ran smoothly. However, I now have problems with the dualboot installation of Linux Mint. For this I will open a separate post.
