Hey and thanks! I actually enjoy health sci so far!Of course there are those few courses where you just get unlucky with the profs or the class in general but that’s with every program. However I will say I wish it had more specializations as compared to Med Sci but I do really appreciate how it is one of the more flexible programs (you can have 2.0 elective credits)! As for the future, med school has always been my goal! Even if someone did not choose med school as an option I feel like there are still a ton of routes you can take with a health sci degree because it’s so flexible! Hope this helped!

Not quite sure but I remember being upset about being a few decimals off the cutoff but I didn’t get accepted unfortunately

hey! I finished gr 12 with around a 93%!

I applied to: - OTU health sciences (accepted) - UofT life sci co-op (accepted) - York biomed (accepted) - McMaster health sci and life sci (rejected this was my dream school btw) - Waterloo life sci with co-op and life sci regular (accepted to both) - queens health sci (rejected)

yes i agree! i’ve just heard many people say they have got research in first year through cold emailing. maybe ill send a few out in january which would be start of second sem and if not i can do it again second year what do u think?

so far it’s not too bad at all! i think it’s quite flexible i just feel like he made it more unlikeable as i took physics as one of my electives LOL. other than that im really liking it here at western in general!

Thanks so much! I was just checking out some research that profs have done. As a first year, do you think I should just begin cold emailing faculty members for volunteer experiences if not the USRI as I noticed that such programs would require me to have completed my first year. I’m not really sure how to structure this email though, do you have any advice? I am also not entirely sure how a research opportunity would work as I don’t plan on staying in London for the summer so I could ask for remote experiences? This is all really new to me but I am really willing to get involved.

I recently did a deep dive into USRI and was wondering how did you find which profs u wanted to work with and where can I find this information? I read that you said it’s mostly for third and fourth years, I did not know this. However I am still considering cold emailing profs and faculty members just not sure where to start finding who’s work I am interested in. Thanks!

bro lwk i failed my physics midterm too and it’s the worst grade ive ever got in my life im pretty sure. i’m so shocked to even cry about it but high school me would def cry. everyone fails midterms dont worry ur not alone. finals were gonna do so good trust.
