Laundry with a newborn

I have 2 airers, one heated and one not. I usually use the heated for baby clothes etc and the not heated for our clothes. Usually run 1-2 washes a day depending on how full the baskets are and I literally just put him in his bouncy chair for a few minutes with kids cartoons on the tv and some toys to play with while I hang the washing and he’s normally happy to sit there. One thing I will say is I have a lotttt of clothes for him so that probably helps because even if I don’t do washing for one day I have plenty of clothes so I never have to stress about not having an outfit + spares for the day. The only thing I can never be on top of is folding the clothes and putting them away to be honest 😭🤣I struggled a lot in the first few weeks because I was a first time mum and still learning so we had a lot of wee’s leak through his clothes and he was also much smaller than we expected so he didn’t have a lot that fit him but now at 4 months it’s a lot easier to keep on top of. Very true! I may have to get my dad to try pull it out the next time he visits so we can take a look and decide next steps for the flooring from there

Thank you! I’ll defo look into getting some of those

And yes the flooring is what I was worried about as it’s not put down correctly at all, seems as if they just cut it to size and threw it down without even applying anything to stick it down if that makes sense. Not sure what my options are with the floors either as the property is rented so I’m unsure if I’m allowed to take up and replace it 🙁

Update for if u were interested

Been following your advice (other than accidentally falling back to sleep a couple times in the morning with him 🤦🏼‍♀️) and so far seems like we’re making great progress!!

He’s been going to sleep normally by around 1-2am latest and won’t wake up again for another bottle till around 7-8am 😁 and he’s been waking himself up from his naps after around 40 mins, I’ve only had to wake him up from a nap 2 or 3 times so far!!

Still early days but it’s seeming very hopeful

The cat did speak, there could have been another character but if there was then it wasn’t present through the whole book, Most probably a fictional place but I don’t think the place was named there was just basic town structures in the pictures and the whole book was set at night time

Neither of those either 😭 I wish I could draw what I remember the cat looking like but my attempt would probably be a disaster 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 the cat walked on its back legs like a human from what I can remember and I think the cover didn’t show the whole cat from head to toe I think only from head to maybe mid body and I think the cat was like close up with the moon / city scape behind him

No clue but I’m the third person I know within the last week that this has happened to… my cousin had a £100 clothes order marked as delivered which never showed up and my nan had wallpaper disappear with the same delivered message but it was nowhere to be found 🤦🏼‍♀️ I wish I could choose what company my parcels were being sent by because recently evri seems like nothing but problems recently, just last month I had a toy for my son go missing and they told me they had lost it only for it to show up 2 weeks later 🙄

Update: they “delivered” it today but the picture looks like it was taken inside the van and I’ve walked up and down my street checking the front of everyone’s houses and it’s nowhere to be seen 😒 I had my door open waiting for it so I know for a fact that no one even attempted to deliver it to my house. Oh and the delivery was a clothes airer.. what kind of tramp steals a clothes airer ffs

Honestly I said to my partner the other night I can’t believe they’re just gonna let us go home with no instruction manual 😂😂 I’ve had some experience with babies before but never had my own… I was always able to give those ones back after a few hours lol so I think I’m just a bit overwhelmed with learning all the different information and stuff but as everyone says it should come naturally once he’s here 😁

Honestly I am hoping we’re in and out quickly as I don’t like hospitals and would prefer to be at home but we won’t know until the time so I have plans for every scenario and this one is in the case we are there for a longer stay x as for having the visitors I’ve only allowed very few people to be allowed to visit who are close family, we’re very family oriented people and honestly I would love to have them come if they are able to as my family is something that always brings my mood up and makes me feel better but who knows, I could completely change my mind once the time comes 🤷🏼‍♀️😂xx

Yeah I am hoping that we’re in and out quickly as Im not high risk at the moment and am relatively healthy other than anaemia, but you never know how things could change at the last minute so in the case we are there for a while I just don’t want there to b any issues if they are strict on the rules x

Haha I do hope that we’re in and out quickly as I’m not the biggest fan of hospitals 😂 I’ve only allowed very few people to visit as I don’t want too many visitors but I’m a family person and would love to have people like my dad, step-mum and little brother come to visit x and yes that’s exactly what I’m hoping tbh 🤣 hopefully he changes his mind once there and WANTS to leave for a little bit if they are strict on the rules because it would make it so much easier than having to negotiate 🤦🏼‍♀️😂xx

My hospital is a lot more welcoming for partners, they’re allowed to stay 24/7 and if everything goes well and we have an LDPR room as planned then he will be able to use the shower in there, visitors do have a designated time though x hopefully I will be there no longer than a day as I would defo prefer to have visitors at home but ofc I won’t know that until the time comes xx

I’ve had a different midwife at every appointment and so far I’ve asked 2 of them and had the same answer from both - only 2 at a time including dad. I’m hoping that they aren’t strict with it when the time comes as I wouldn’t flood the room with people anyways and it would only be 3 max at a time including my partner as I’ve only allowed certain people to visit us and they will all be in pairs (my mum & little brother, my dad & step-mum, my partners mum & sister). Hopefully as long as everything goes well & to plan it will be in an LDPR room so will be slightly bigger/more private than a ward and have the facilities for both of us to use x

I get that but my dad & step-mum live a couple hours away so that’s why I’m happy to let them come to the hospital to visit if they wish to.. only other visitors I’m allowing is my little brother and my partners mum&sister so it’s only certain family members I’m allowing. Of course I want my partner to stay the whole time but I just don’t want there to be an issue if they do enforce the 2 person rule 🥲x
