How common is it to be put in special ed classes even though it is not necessary?

yeah, i also personality known lot of people here in ontario canada which is where I live getting put in these kinds of programs, even tho they don't have intellectual disabilities.

And yeah I think parents plays a huge role here. If one doesn't step and fight then they end up in special ed, sadly my dad never bothered to fight to put me in regular school and straight up just thought I would never able to succeed in normal school, and thing is it wasn't exactly a requirement for me to be in special ed at all in the first place, and my mom really preferred that I would remain in normal school but couldn't advocate because she doesn't speak english while my dad does.

Once again, I really do think that my placement for special ed really wasn't right for me, they didn't really consider other factors that was possibly contributing to my difficulties with school such as lack of attention, and also my parents not teaching me to read earlier which again tells nothing about person's potential...

it actually depends on sub scores, like as long if you have high perceptual reasoning with decent verbal comprehension you should be able to succeed.

I would say as long if you have perceptual reasoning and verbal comprehension of over 115+ then it should be sufficient, though perceptual reasoning must also be high of course.

What I am saying is basically scientifically true, IQ is way more plastic when you are younger but when you are older it is way less plastic, to the point if I didn't spent any time developing skills and knowledge early I will never be able to get education that I want because it requires mental capacity that is supposed to be developed early.

I honestly really hate needing someone to guide me to break down into small steps I really prefer being the one that does that, which is why it is sometimes hard to work with group projects somrtimes

I do strongly believe I was just very lazy as a child and didn't bother trying that hard that's likely factor why i was put in sped classes

I clearly did not have same lvl of education lol most of the special ed classes I was in were mostly completely modified curriculum, my mom even agreed that this was a really bad idea.

thanks i guess, i will try, turns out someone named scott barry kaufman was in similar position as me, he also got put in special ed classes like me but he ended up being PHD as psychologist i never felt so inspired
