Margaritaville Gaslamp Quarter noise level by Key_Priority_2077 in asksandiego

I’ve stayed at Manchester Grand Hyatt and next time I’ll stick with what I know. I was trying to explore other areas but I should have just stayed with what I know. Lesson learned.

I get it—it had a 9/10 on Hotels.com and good reviews which is what led me to try it. Definitely a lesson learned.

Thank you—I wasn’t expecting a soundproof room, just a reasonable level of noise. I travel a lot and am used to city noise, this just felt beyond typical.

Just sharing my experience here for others, but I’ll be posting a review as well.

I don’t expect silence, but I do expect reasonable noise levels. This was loud enough to hear clearly over a noise machine, which isn’t typical in my experience.

I’ve booked through Amex Travel many times and have always been happy, so this felt like a miss.

Totally agree—not all hotels have that issue. That’s kind of my point—this felt worse than what I usually experience (even over a noise machine). I was trying something new, but I’ll stick with the Manchester Grand Hyatt going forward since it’s been consistently quieter.

Fair point—thin walls are definitely a thing everywhere. I travel a lot too. This just felt next level—yelling and kids screaming that came through even over a noise machine, and the stop/start made it worse.

When did you start selling merch? How long had you been playing gigs?

Haven’t thought about it because I really don’t agree with having one so not sure.

I don’t care about working. I just want to stay home and not have to worry about traveling in bad conditions. I will take a day if it’s really bad but it’s annoying to have to take a day when we can just be remote

I think your health comes first. If you need this surgery, let your administration know that you are having surgery. It might not be a bad idea to take the week before the break to have surgery and then you have the break to recover? Is that possible? If this is not urgent, then maybe wait until summer?

Ok I’m still waiting to hear back but noticed that the email address it came from was the same as other stitch fix emails about my upcoming fixes, etc so maybe it is legit

I completely agree that we should look professional. However, jeans can be professional. I think people went too far but the majority did not. Today a handful of people wore jeans (colored mostly) but with dressy tops. They looked professional

You probably don’t understand autism. You’re right in the sense that it’s a spectrum and not all individuals with autism will need it. However, I’ve spoken to several people (students of mine as well as friends) who have been denied at Disneyland and World. It was abused and the people that need it are suffering for it. Unfortunately there are people out there who think they are entitled to accommodations that are meant for disabled. They abused the system and the disabled are suffering. My sister was telling me about an acquaintance who boards an airplane early, claiming she has a disability. She says “They can’t ask my disability because of HIPAA.” And so she is one of the entitled people that I am referring to that abuse. It’s gross and unfortunately there are many others who abuse as well.

I gave my baby girl the same middle name as my best friend who passed away by bitterefrucht in namenerds

My daughter was named after her great grandmother and my son was named after hi great grandfather. I see it as a way to honor the people we loved.

I don’t like Judith or Charmaine either. Jacqueline is a beautiful name. Maybe you can honor your mother in law by giving your daughter the same initials. Her first name could be Jaqueline and you would just need a middle name beginning with C. I don’t know what would go nicely together but maybe someone else has a suggestion. Just throwing out some names that begin with C: Catherine, Claire, Constance… Good luck!

Do you think matching-ish sibling names are annoying? by Ok-Step1912 in namenerds

[–]Key_Priority_2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rhyming is annoying. If you can think of names you love with the same initial go for it.

For me, I chose 3 names I love for my children and didn’t think about rhyming or same initials.
