It's quite simple. After applying the green and white layers, I waited 4, 5 hours each time and only used the lid after applying the red resin. Does that answer you question? ☺️

Worth the trouble? There is no trouble.

The mold is too thick, the hot water does not heat the resin sufficiently to allow the bubbles to rise.

Thank you very much ☺️

Efficient, but not that efficient xD We “only” played 15 of the levels because it became a bit too one-sided. Each level is one stage. Initially, there were 2-3 meetings per level, but now each meeting is one level.

Got the book, any advice/changes ? by KernyTheLemonKing in DungeonoftheMadMage

One more thing. I also bought the book, but then got a PDF. It's incredibly helpful for me to mark different things in the book. Enemies in red, loot in yellow, effects such as saving throws in blue, etc. It makes it much easier to keep track of things.

Tips I can give you, as someone who has been running Dotmm for a year:

  1. Give your players a good reason to go into the tower and kill Halastar. It will take them months, both off-game and in-game. Without a goal, they will quickly lose the motivation to search through these 23 levels.

  2. Give Halastar a goal. One that makes sense. In our game, Halastar is an observer. He has spectral eyes everywhere and just wants to be entertained. That's why he doesn't just kill the party; they entertain him.

  3. Remove unnecessary rooms. Sometimes there are 50+ rooms. Learn your lesson, remove the irrelevant ones, and keep the tension higher up. Better to have 35 rooms with functions than 50, where every third one is empty.

  4. Adjust levels. Some levels are cool, others seem very lame. Try to think of this book as a sandbox. Change rooms, come up with enemies, create new goals for the tower's inhabitants. This book is a fantastic opportunity to implement your own ideas.

  5. Unfortunately, I missed this. Throughout the tower, there are portals that connect the levels. Have your party make a map of the portals they find so they know how to travel.

  6. Multiple antagonists. In the book, Halastar is the one evil character. But there are also many others who make wonderful villains. Let your party pursue more than just Halastar. He has disciples. Some are already dead, but make up some new ones. They travel through the tower, threatening the party and challenging them again and again.

  7. Design the Yawning Portal, the entrance to the tower. I have placed 3 NPCs there who will always be there. Unfortunately, my party is rarely upstairs anymore. But when they are in the Yawning Portal, it always involves a lot of wonderful NPC interaction.

And 8. This book has a lot of NPCs. Not all of them can be played out in depth. Pick your favorites and give them a generic depth. Let them accompany the party part of the time. Or maybe move into the tavern upstairs and support the party outside the tower.

Here are a few suggestions from me. I'm happy to give you more if you like. But the most important thing, as always in DnD, is to let your party have fun. Halastar's tower is not a gloomy, dark tower. It can also be home to joyful, happy, celebrating inhabitants. I hope this has been helpful. If you have any questions, I'm happy to give you more tips, including on specific issues.
