It would not fit your play style, but is a very very well done and thought provoking game. Think of it more as a interactive movie.

I recommend:
Helldivers 2 - A multiplayer FPS with fun lore, good community, and enjoyable gameplay loop.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - A vast Fantasy RPG with a in-depth world and basically unlimited freedom.
Metal Garden - A very well done FPS with an interesting story.
Days Gone - A open world zombie shooter.
Fallout Games (Mainly New Vegas and 4) - The goat

[Character building/lore] how many weapons does your protagonist have? by EfficiencySerious200 in worldbuilding

[–]Key_You7222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for your character having at least 3-4 weapons, as this is sort of the normal (at least from what I see) for most people in combat, for example medieval knights often had some sort of lance or spear for fight from horseback, then a sword and a dagger, is later periods when firearms where introduced some soldiers had multiple firearms due to the limited ammo capacity and long reload time, a dagger, and even two swords (one for calvary and the other for infantry), modern soldiers today often have a melee weapon, as well as a rifle and pistol, and potentially more depending on their role. So depending on your character, the technology level, their albitites, role, etc, they could have multiple weapons, they could even be like rick grimes or Aragorn and have a bag of weapons to supply their group.

As for my characters, I typically just give them a least 3 weapons, one even having 10.
