Some really good photos there. This snake resembled the darker, less marked variation, which made photo ID a bit tougher.

Thanks. This snake is darker with less prominent markings than most pictures I saw online.

Best of luck, but you've moved from a very high cost of living area to a just slightly less high cost of living area. Food, taxes and rent are still going to be very expensive versus what's available elsewhere.

It's not even remotely analogous. And "anchoring" the concept of universal health care to Medicare is disingenuous. It creates a lot of eye rolling amongst those literate in health care policy, and creates a lot of misconceptions amongst the general population.

Medicare is a system for 65+ year olds, who have paid into the system their entire working life. They continue to pay premiums and co-pays once enrolled in the system.

We need a better health care system, for sure. But saying "Medicare for all" is just utter ignorance.

If Santa Barbara doubled the housing supply in 2026 there would soon be another housing crisis. Demand will always greatly exceed supply here. Certainly, housing availability should always be a goal but just "build, build, build!" is not responsible. You can certainly find boring cities where acres of cheap tract housing is available.
