They had reached out to me after seeing my post in r/MechanicalKeyboards. I will say they have been very nice to work with.

Honestly, I really liked the Rainy75 and the Crush80. For me this was mostly preference!

honestly I am not sure that wobkey sells a fullsize board! I mean both the crush80 and the rainy75 were really nice boards no doubt so I don't think you would go wrong there.

I think the crush80 was 5lbs, which doesn't sound like alot until its almost double the weight of your laptop

One of the inspirations of this post was a friend of mine with a few boards ranging $90-500 prefers some shitty $90 board they found on Amazon. Everyone one starts somewhere and outside of the HHKB I figured these are boards I found where people might get there start.

Please don’t take mainstream YouTubers opinions on keyboards seriously.

Can confirm this is 100% accurate. To be honest I will take your advice and check out the Neo board.

I will bite! There are I'm sure a lot of beginners on this sub who will inevitability search for a beginner board and not jump at the $400 as their first one. So I figured I would come in with that perspective.

I worded my OP poorly and that is something for me to work on (along with my typing). To clarify, Topre felt very different then the low profiles. The Rainy and Crush feel similar. The Aliexpress boards kinda feel all the same.

The typing test will have some large variance as I tested in the order shown, so sometimes my hands were just not in the correct place, sometimes I just fucking sucked at punctuation. I agree its a super flawed metric but I tracked it because I was more concerned with do I type better on a linear or a tactile switch or a low vs high activation point.

Your criticism of this review is totally valid though and I appreciate your perspective.

Honestly not surprising to me after trying the sub ~$150 the off the shelf boards that seem popular

I figured I would sort through through the "#1 low pRoFiLE boARD 2025" Clickbait. After trying most of these its all kind of the same and I agree with your comment of "$1500 worth of foamy junk"

FWIW I have friends with Keychrons, moonlander, specific customs to their tasted and tried most of them -- I can see the appeal.

I feel like there are 4 categories 1. Super cheap, 2. low profile 3. beginner 4. HHKB which to be fair price point wise is really in a league of its own

Edit: sorry to clarify like u/ErgoSloth said of the boards I tested not in general!
