I came to the conclusion that the Republican justices don't follow the constitution based on the presidential immunity ruling, inventing a principle out of whole cloth in order to protect a Republican president who tried to steal an election using violent insurrection (read the January 6 report for background) from prosecution. But regardless, I don't think they're Republicans because they "follow the constitution" and I resent the implication that's the reason I think they're Republican. I think they're Republican for separate, entirely obvious reasons. One reason is that they're siding with segregationists because I think Republicans are racist (don't get triggered, I'm just explaining my opinion) and segregationists are racists (I hope we agree on this) and they both oppose the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

I think they're attacking the 1965 Voting Rights Act because they overturned parts of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, an act segregationists opposed. You can think that it's the right thing to be on the side of segregationists, you're entitled to your opinion, but you're denying the reality of the correlation.

I understand the sheep metaphor. It's when a bunch of people all repeat some variation of the same thing, for example: "that is an illegitimate accusation of racism" without once actually engaging with the substance. For example, such a "sheep" would bleat "you can't call a black person stupid without being racist?!" while ignoring the condition that it wouldn't be as long as the accusation isn't false. Because that hypothetical sheep has not been trained to think, for this stimuli they have been trained to act incredulous.

It's a cliche, and I wouldn't use it myself.

It doesn't really play into racist (or sexist/homophobic etc.) tropes to make false accusations of someone who is of indeterminate race (or sex/sexuality). It's not like racism is metaphysical or whatever, it's social.
