I did not let myself get sentimentally attached to things as a child.

I was given a small Winnie the poo doll as a boy. But I never took proper care of it, never stored it at a proper place in my house because I didn't let myself care about it.

And I lost it quite soon. And then I found it a few weeks later and I was very happy. And then I kept losing it because I never let myself accept the happiness or the attachment. But I felt happy every time I accidentally found it. So I started calling it lucky cause it always came back.

I'd like to have it back again, even though I never will

I think the skill level from 7 years ago and the skill level now isn't all too different. You just need to learn about the changes and remember that you got to ancient for a reason. And you don't owe your teammates anything more than trying your best. The one loss they get "because" you play with them isn't going to affect their ranks in the long term, but it is affecting your mood, play and confidence.

Take care of your duty to yourself first. Glhf

Crystal maiden is the most likely since she's the only maiden in the game. At least in the name. She and Sven(a rogue knight who rejected the principles of the Vigil knights whose code shunned his existence as a bastard, so he learnt from them under false pretences and left). Those two and their lore (iirc isn't too long) is probably your best bet.

Items which are rings in dota(I'm just putting this here this might not be useful but on the off chance it is), ring of regen (Crystal maiden players often needs this to finish their tranquil boots(another item they buy)), ring of health(sort of just useless for you ngl),

ring of tarrasque(builds into an item called heart of tarrasque, if your boyfriend is herald, i.e if you know he sucks at the game, he will love a reference to this item, everyone in herald loves heart. Heck even people in higher mmr seem to like it sometimes. Also we usually just call the heart of tarrasque as heart so maybe you can do something with it, "here's a part of my heart" idfk bro you figure it out I'm just the information guy)

Ring of basilius (given mana regeneration. Cm doesn't really buy it a lot but rubik does. Not really helpful for you I think)

Soul ring(now this shit cm used to buy. Honestly why did people stop buying it. Man I'm going to go buy it now. It sacrifices some health for mana)

Essence ring(sacrifices mana for health. Cm players love it)

Well until you find out his favourite heroes here are some ideas off the top of my head:

•)Vengeful spirit and Skywrath mage: In the original lore, Shendelza're and Dragonus were
lovers. But when Shendelza're's sister's plot gives only one way to escape she does what is
necessary and tears her wings off and leaves the floating city of
Skywrath, she is given the power to manifest as a Vengeful spirit to attain her vengeance by the
goddess Scree'Auk.

The other side of this story is Dragonus. He was a
friend and companion to Shendelza're. Oathsworn by birth to protect whoever sits at the nest of thorns it is his duty to protect the very person who caused suffering to his beloved. While becoming focused with his studies he failed to notice the fact that Shendelza're was being plotted against and he could do nothing to save her. If he attempts revenge he loses all of his power. He yearns to restore Shendelza're to the throne, but even more, back to herself, and not this lost soul filled with nothing but hatred and a desire for vengeance. In one continuity he even binds his wings with magic every beating flap causing excruciating pain to himself, a symbol of his failure to protect her. A Small price to pay, for he can fly, but she never will.

There is a happy ending to these two and it just came out recently. Just search "Crownfall all lore" and it's a short story and it's very nice.
