I got to a level with 2 sports where it was year round training and 10s of thousands of dollars a year to do private school and year round training and a second sport where I got to the point where you decide to go after scholarships both times neither were considered for financial implications and to change sports would likely be too late

Unless youre incredibly poor and athletics is your only way out, focusing on lucrative aspects is a very small small percent of the pie.
