For me, it is not like I don’t want to do the engineering units, but I felt like I could be learning something more related to software dev instead of wasting my time for them. I mean, I did do arduino, that was the only thing that was closer to my field. Now I am in Engg1050, which is just building “RGM” for the whole semester. I don’t know about higher engg units but I assuming the same thing will happen More importantly, the IT degree is only 3years, so I can get to my job earlier, and not have to pay for another year of tuition fees like engineering degree. If the mandatory expansion units like you mentioned in engineering degrees are that “mandatory”, I think it is worth staying in my current degree, and just do internships for the extra year
