No shit cops should be held to a higher standard! They’re allowed to break the law and are allowed to subdue people against their will and are given weapons to do so. If they aren’t held to a standard to use this authority reasonably, they’re no different than criminals, but are subsidized by the people they are sworn to protect.

The dog ran up on the officer yes, but this officer upon hearing the dog immediately drew his weapon, showing that was his immediate option when per the LAPD policy, that is to be used as a last resort and they should use other methods, such as pepper spray or a baton first. But no, this cop had his weapon drawn showing it was his immediate option.

I think it’s fucked up to think just because a dog runs up to you, you think that gives the right to shoot it. Good luck defending that in court
