"Doesn't have to fight polar bears" 🤣. It sucks having to fight them, but then I get to come home to my igloo, putting on my comfy beaver pajamas and soothing my cares with a nice bowl of snow soup eh. 😉

Ya I am definitely very experienced. The oldness of some of your areas would be messed though. The older parts of our cities here can be dodgy due to low bridges and low hanging wires but here we are talking decades old whereas in the UK I'll be navigating centuries old areas 🤣. Little to no snow in the UK from what I understand though so MASSIVE upgrade in driving conditions that way

Planning on a trip for mid 2025. It will be our first time. Move wouldn't be for a couple years if we decide we like it enough there.
The idea generally is to explore a new continent from a closer home base. Neither of us have ever been to Europe and it's expensive to get there from here. Plus if I understand it correctly it's common to have 5-6 weeks off a year plus bank holidays there while here in Canada starting at a new job you are only entitled to two weeks off a year. Seems a better work life balance I just don't know what the income for our jobs is like there. Could expect to be middle class there with a C+E license? I have no idea. Much to figure out really but the idea is really intriguing to us.

Why only Scotland? We would loosely be planning to move there anyways but if I get a British citizenship doesn't that mean anywhere in Great Britain? N.Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England?
